"FOR THINGS TO CHANGE, you need to make a change, and for things to get better, you've got to get better" ~Jim Rohn. This run was different then any other experience I've had in my life. I really got present to the fact that everything is a choice. Today I chose to run a Half Marathon. That's all it was, I decided to do it and so I did. It's about completing what you set out to do. Was it hard? VERY. But what I was present to, was that I could either think about how hard, or how long it would take, or I could just simply appreciate it exactly how it is. That was another choice I made, to "take it all in". All of it. I appreciated ALL of it. The crowds, the music, the people high-fiving me, the cheerleaders, the water station attendees, the encouragement from other runners, the encouragement I was to other runners, getting that medal at the finish line, seeing my husband who waited at the finish line right there to greet me, the yogurt and bananas, running with my sister-in-law, meeting new friends before the race. I NOTICED & APPRECIATED EVERY SINGLE THING ON THAT COURSE. I have never done that. I discovered about myself that I have missed a lot of really incredible things on my journey, because of a lot of background noise present in my mind. Today I choose to be aware of all the background noise and not let it distract me from what is. That created space for me and made room for things to be appreciated. I really for the first in my life got that EVERYTHING IS A CHOICE. I can choose to stand in the long Porta Pottie line and complain how long it is or just choose to be grateful I get to pee, so I don't have to pee in my pants. I even had to opportunity to be ok with the fact that some of my Herbalife Products, MY FUEL that I depend on and that makes such a difference for me were left behind and I got to choose what I had and believe that what I had was what I needed.
