Friday active engagement Lab-Laika studios Kubo and the two strings-Stop motion animation-Computer room
Kubo and the Two Strings incorporates the use of stop motion with origami to make an amazingly beautiful and moving movie, through storytelling with paper. It was amazing how the waves and the boats were made I did find out from Paul Gardiner that that scene took 6 months to film.
The level of detail is not missed in any scene but I did like the scene of where he brings his family back and they are all together again with the lanterns.
This movie did give me inspiration for my next idea this week in Mixed materials workshop.
I had the idea from the lanterns to create a lantern with letters all around, and maybe combining multiple languages within the piece, and adding a light source to project the words around the wall of the room creating an installation of personal Connection within a space.
I will also go to the photography room to take photos of the piece and experiment with the design elements and see what happens with different light or colours.
