Fridays were movie nights. Today's choice was a paranormal comedy of sorts, but it wasn't that interesting. What felt more attractive right then, was Phil.
In the corner of his eye, Dan could see Phil staring at him. He chose to ignore it- until a few minutes had passed and his boyfriend was yet to look away.
He paused the movie and turned to Phil, who wasn't even trying to hide it. He continued to watch Dan with passionate eyes.
"What are you doing?" Dan looked down at his lap, feeling uneasy. Phil immediately stopped staring and took the younger's hands in his. He urged Dan to look up, but the shying boy refused.
"I was looking at you." Phil mumbled in a gentle tone, and finally his boyfriend dared to meet his eyes. "Because I like to look at you."
"Why?" Phil didn't like the doubt he could hear in Dan's voice. The smaller boy bit his lip, regretting that he asked. He didn't want to sound so insecure, it made him feel weak.
"You're everything that I've ever loved." Dan's eyes widened and he quickly looked away. Phil chuckled at the younger boy's embarrassment, earning a weak glare.
"I don't... I don't get that." Dan confessed after a while, looking down at their intertwined hands. Phil shuffled a bit so that he was facing him, then put his index finger under the boy's chin and pushed it up.
He cleared his throat and prepared to speak, which Dan rolled his eyes at.
"You're everything that I've ever loved. I love how unselfish you are. I love that you're intelligent, and always know what to say and how to say it. I love the oversized sweaters, I love your brown eyes, seriously, those eyes..."
"Phil." Dan said, voice wavering. He was biting his lip and his eyes were jumping from place to place, as if not knowing where to put his attention. They caught on Phil's a few seconds later, and he couldn't bring himself to look away.
Phil decided to continue. "I love your taste in music. I love your amused smile. I love it when your nose scrunches up when you laugh. I love the sweater paws. I love the messy hair. I love the way you tend to curl up into a ball when you sleep. I love the questioning 'are you serious' look you're giving me right now." Dan sighed.
"I love the late nights. I love your interest in space. I love how you'll silently sing to me when you think I'm asleep." This was followed by a look of embarrassment on Dan's face, which Phil laughed at. "Don't worry, you're good."
"All these are things I love, Dan, on anyone... And you have every single one of them. It's almost strange how I ended up finding you, but I know it must've been fate, or love-aliens, or something..."
Dan giggled, another thing Phil loved with him. "Phil, you don't even know..." Dan murmured, but he didn't finish his sentence immediately. "How much I love you." He breathed the last three words, sending a shiver down Phil's spine.
"There is one more thing I love, though, that I don't see right now." Phil whispered and Dan tilted his head to the side in silent wonder. "I love giving you hickeys."
"Phil, no." Dan warned him. "Don't touch my neck, I will kill-"
And then Phil tackled Dan to the floor, just like he did in 2009. Except this time, he got to trail his lips over his loved one's neck, instead of just dreaming of it.
