@the.eye.of.oberon and I were gifted last minute tickets to @makerfaire from jewelry maker @enchantedleaves , who is also my very first fairy wing customer from back in the day! Since they had a cosplay contest and encouraged dressing up by giving free entrance to the first 50 who arrived in full cosplay, we decided to dust off the animated wings and I slapped together a rushed casual steampunk fairy look. @lumecluster gave me the nudge I needed (and her pendant went perfectly with this!), due to the rain I didn't plan on dressing up at first! So glad I did, we left the faire with some new ideas and an inspiration recharge 🌟 We left the cover off so you can see the mechanism. You might see a kit from us in the future, but we also might put this out there as an open source kind of thing? Creating a full tutorial for beginners was just too complex and TBH Jordan doesn't have the time to deal with tech support, so we are figuring out other solutions without draining our resources or time. Since this was made in 2016, we can now see there are also new and possibly easier ways to make this, so do stay tuned! 🧚 Also, save this coming Sunday on your calendar because I'll be making an appearance in the Bay Area and will have some goodies to purchase on site. #makersgonnamake #makerfaire #makerfaire2019 #makerfaire19 #roboticwings #mechanicalwings #fairywings #movingwings #steampunkfairy #steampunkwings #wearablerobotics https://www.instagram.com/p/BxsrMu-nLsS/?igshid=1uow6a3m7qwqj
