to answer your question (the character limit of the reply button was too wimpy so here i am) : i think it depends on your definition of intimate. sexual: sex. yeah. romantic: allowing someone in when you at are you most vulnerable. like, when you at at your wit's end, having a mental breakdown, and you let your person just sit there and lightly rub your back and they let you bury yourself in their shoulder because you know they are going to support you through everything.
I like this. I think so, too. Being there for someone in this type of context is one of the most supportive things you can ever do for someone. Speaking from ridiculous recent experience, it certainly made me realize how much I love my Moon. I 100000% agree with this.
However, without sounding too cynical, sometimes people can 'be there' for you even when they don't really care that much. They may just happen to be a friend that's closest at the time. That sounds kind of horrible, but it's true. Kind of like that moment when you're having a bad moment and the person you're rambling to just kind of rolls their eyes and is ready for it to be over and not for you, but for themselves. That happens, too.
But I like to think that most people truly do care and it's one of the most comforting things on the face of the planet. <3
