“Ah, ah ah-” Phobetor tuts as he slowly walks around the large wooden body of the piano, his head shaking as his wispy little cane lightly taps the young ladies hands. “Your notes are atill far too slow... and sluggish!” He corrects, rather enjoying being the piano tutor as he shifts the little cane to tap on the wooden music sheet holder. “Light taps, remember, light taps!” He snaps and sets to pacing again. 

“Schubert's Ave Maria is a simple piece, but it deserves your best effort! Feel the notes. Start again!” He calls out, continuing to pace as he lectures. “Now... one, two, three, begin to play, one, two, three” he counts, nodding as he goes.

Jinsoul had met her replacement a couple days before her last shift- not shy in introducing herself and training the other demigoddess on all the little things about the shop she could; never open the shipments because Ah Puch would prefer to do that, don't dust the crystals because you might start seeing things in them, always tell the shop good night when you close. Leaving the gloomy store she hardly even seemed to belong in was amicable on account of her pursing a job at Babylon so she held no ill will for the other. In fact, it was quite the opposite. The ballerina was incredibly partial to other women.

As expected of her overly friendly nature and disposition she had snagged Xinyuan's phone number, then a few social media tags. Though they may not be the best of friends they kept in touch and it was not at all unexpected of one to judge Jinsoul as kind enough to reach out to. Rather common, actually.

So while drying her hair from a shower the Japanese demigod only hummed as she read the missed call notification and the text that followed. Maybe Xinyuan had a question about something at Sombre Muerte. Even if it was a different matter all together Jinsoul had no hesitation in pressing redial and situating the phone against her shoulder while she browsed what to wear.

"Hi Yuannie~ What do you need?"

“I have found myself saying much the same from time to time” Phobetor hums, voice a gentle, low rumble as he steps up behind the young woman, currently deep within her own misery, as she repeated the words to herself, like a mantra to make it true. Carefully, like one would approach a cowering animal, his hand reaches out to rest on silky soft hair, before running gently over the strands as he lowers to crouch beside her. Children of darkness called to him, even when they did not know it, as a fellow creature of life’s hidden necessities on the darker side of existence.

“What happened?” he murmurs, wondering why such a pretty girl could look so distraught and worried. His tall form crouched beside her, hand gently resting on her back.

He smiled at her, his expression soft and warm as though he were meeting with an old friend. Although he had only met with Xinyuan a handful of times, he had recognised some of her habits in himself and so felt closer to her than he should have. “A perfectionist knows one when he sees one,” Harper teased, resting a head against his palm, “But don’t worry about it - I’m the same.”

A single icy blue eye gazed at his daughter. He didn’t care for her forgiveness since it was her decision. Arawn didn’t want to meddle in his kids lives. They were adults who could make their own decisions. It was up to them, not him. If they wanted to know him, they were free to. He relaxed and crossed his arms, tearing his gaze away from her. “Don’t make me laugh, Yuan,” he stated. His eyes narrowed as he pondered his answer. 

“How are you supposed to forgive someone like me? That’s a loaded question. I had nothing at fault with your mother. When I met her, she was a fiery woman. So whatever happened after I left her was her own fault.” he stated, reaching for the cup of tea in front of him. He had only agreed to this meeting because she was his daughter and he had long ago decided that if they wanted to know him, all they had to do was reach out. 

“Forgiveness is a loaded word, Yuan. Are you sure it’s me that you want to forgive or am I stand in for her?” he hummed, in agitation.

Hades lets his gaze go from the girl next to him to the snowy landscape outside the window, the streets covered in white powder. Though there are many speculations about the state of the Underworld and exactly how hot or cold it would be there, the place actually doesn’t really have a temperature to him; always comfortable to walk around in, never too hot or too cold. Which means the idea of going outside when it’s snowing sounds absolutely dreadful to him right now.

“Really?” He asks the young demigoddess who suggested going outside to make some snow angels and roll up a snowman. He has no idea who she is, but that doesn’t stop him from feeling addressed when those words are spoken so suddenly from next to him, especially considering he’s the only one in her vicinity. “You want to... Go out in that... Right now?”

He looks down at his comfortable sweater and jeans. He did bring a scarf and a coat but they’re currently hanging aside while he’s enjoying his absolutely delicious mug of spiced wine. “I’m not sure I’m dressed for lying down in the snow and flailing my arms around,” he says then. “Besides, this spiced wine is absolutely delightful. Maybe you should try it too, I think it’ll be a much better time spent for both of us...”

“Listen, you might not believe me, but I know what I saw.”

He sighed, shaking his head. Mount Phoenix had taught him a lot - one of which was nothing was outside the realm of possibility - but it had been a long night at the hospital and his very little patience was almost gone. “So you saw a monkey grow wings? Really?” The disbelief was audible in his voice, and he wondered whether he should be calling the psychology ward.

“That was definitely not the wind.”

She laughed, knowing exactly who had made such a racket. Lifting up the curtain, she revealed a small corgi puppy who seemed to have dazed himself by running into the wall. “It wasn’t the wind, it was Bao Bao being silly!” Aura lifted the puppy up, kissing his head, “Poor baby, did you get lost inside the curtains again?”
