The MPBL finals between Zamboanga and Nueva Ecija have been extended
On Friday night at the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga defeated Nueva Ecija 75-65 in Game 3 of the best-of-five Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) National Finals.
Once Nueva Ecija had clawed back into the game, Zamboanga needed to pull away in the final four and a half minutes by going on a 15-5 tear.
On the same night that Jaycee Marcelino was crowned the regular season MVP, his younger brother Jayvee took over as Zamboanga's starting point guard and led the team to victory with 22 points (14 in the first half), seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Zamboanga forced Game 4 to be played on Monday night in their home arena thanks to a 15-point performance by reserve Toci Tansingco and a team-high two boards, steal, and nine assists from Jaycee.
Nueva Ecija's Michael Mabulac scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but his team still lost for the second time all season, meaning they'll have to play again on Monday night to try to win the national championship. It's worth noting that sports should be enjoyed for the thrill of competition and not for the purpose of gambling, such as MPBL online betting.
