Work had begun to feel strange lately. Whereas once the team at Mukashi-Kara had been quite close-knit, it felt like they were all drifting apart. Of course, the fact that Diana herself had been awfully distant and quiet for a while did not help, nor did Eiji’s accident and subsequent absence- and even since he had returned, he had been rather withdrawn himself. The atmosphere in the shop was not necessarily bad, but it was definitely different than it had once been, if you asked her.

And actually, she did not mind it as much as she maybe should have. It was sort of nice to go to work, quietly put in her time, and leave. Considering everything going on in her life, it was just easier to put herself on autopilot and forget everything for a little while, focusing on just the customer and the products. It was also a plus when the shop was quiet and she could get in some reading.

Which was what she was doing when she felt someone come up behind her and touch her back. She had been hunched over a particularly dense book of theory, trying to wrap her head around the basic concepts presented in the first chapter. Then she felt the touch and nearly jumped out of her skin, turning to see Eiji standing there. “Oh! Sorry, Eiji, hi... Did you need something?”

This was a bad idea. Diana knew that. Hwiyoung would find out and she would suffer some serious consequences-- but she didn’t care. Eiji had asked her on a date. She should have said no, she knew that, but she had not hesitated to accept. They had been dancing around their feelings for each other for months, after all. The only reason it had taken this long was because of her... boyfriend. As if he could really be called that. She was tired of being held back and controlled. Fuck the consequences, she would gladly take them if she got to have this one nice evening with a man she actually liked.

She spent longer getting ready than she had in a long time, carefully styling her hair and applying makeup and picking out an outfit: a blush pink denim skirt, a flowy white blouse tucked in, an embroidered bomber jacket and black ankle boots. Causal, but girly. As she looked in the mirror, she almost felt pretty. It would be the first time in a long time.

She set her phone on the kitchen table, deciding it was best to leave it behind, and grabbed her purse before heading out the door. Once she arrived at Mukashi-Kara, she went around the back to knock at the door of Eiji and Jimin’s apartment. She felt antsy, a little scared, but excited-- and more than that, determined. She just wanted one nice night.

With hands buried deep inside of his coat pockets and dressed in a carefully curated attire of a soft sweater and casual jeans, Hwiyoung was headed to Mukashi-Kara. It wasn’t the way that he would usually dress, but it was the most strategic style when it came to convincing someone that he were a nice, sweet person.

He wasn’t sure if Diana would be there anyway but, save from showing up to her apartment, it seemed like the most plausible place. It wasn’t that he missed her - far from it - but rather that he had plans to place into action. As much as he could mess around with Diana, the more time he allowed her to be away from him, the harder it would be to draw her back to him. He wasn’t quite done with her yet.

“Eiji,” he raised a brow at the male standing outside of the store, “Is Diana here, by any chance? I need to speak with her.” Hwiyoung doubted that he would tell him the truth; Diana’s boss has clearly never liked him though Hwiyoung was yet to figure out the root cause for it.

“Forget it, I’ll check myself.”

Diana just needed a minute. She pushed her way through the crowd on the dance floor and walked out into the cold night air, gulping it in like she had been unable to breathe inside. It had been nice of Jinseok to try to distract her after her run-in with Hwiyoung, but she just needed to process it. Maybe if she processed it, she could go back inside and enjoy the rest of her night.

She just did not understand what had happened. Hwiyoung had acted like he didn’t even know her, as if they hadn’t just broken up a week previous. What was the end game? Just to make her feel bad? Something about it did not sit well with her, not at all. The whole thing made her scared, made her pulse and breath quicken. She did not know what he was capable of, and she did not want to know what he was playing at with this latest stunt. Maybe it was just supposed to hurt her. Or maybe it was part of something bigger. She really didn’t know, and she didn’t want to find out.

She leaned back against the rough stone wall of the building, closing her eyes. How had she messed up her life so thoroughly in so short a time? A heavy sigh fell from her lips and she had to will herself not to cry. If she did, she’d ruin all of Valentina’s hard work, and she did not want to do that. A few deep breaths. In, out, in, out. She would go back inside. She would try to have fun. Everything would be fine.

When she opened her eyes, she let out a little squeak of surprise. She had thought that she was alone out there, but suddenly someone was standing in front of her. And not just any someone. “Oh, hi Eiji,” she murmured, clearing her throat and looking down at her shoes. She was suddenly incredibly self-conscious, unsure of how much he had seen and how clear her distress was. “Um, what are you doing out here?”

She was 12-hours into a 24-hour shift at the hospital and was doing her rounds with a few nurses shadowing her. They were tasked with shadowing her for most of her shift. Much to her dismay, it was her job to help them improve as much as she could throughout her shifts this week. So, she had them with her all throughout her rounds in the ICU and the recovery rooms. They stood before the room of her last patient before heading back down to the ER for another few hours, when she dismissed them. They were obviously confused but she reassured them that she was fully capable of handling this last patient on her own.

Dr. Jung was quick to recognize that this specific patient of hers was not comfortable in this setting - as many aren’t - but she recognized something more personal to her about this one. So, she made a decision to treat this patient how she wished she’d been treated so long ago. Krystal tapped three warning knocks on the wooden door of the hospital room and slowly made her way in as the occupant confirmed it was alright to enter. Once she was fully in the room she gave her patient a small comforting smile, folding her hands in front of her.

“Good afternoon Eiji. How’re you feeling today? Is our pain management plan helping?” Dr. Jung pulled his file from the basket at the end of his bed, slowly going over the notes taken by his nurse and trying to send a bit more energy into the aura that surrounds her - hoping to help him feel more comfortable without pushing too much.

It's a day. Eiji pours himself into one of the fancy chairs in Minx as he waits to talk with Eros and mutters to himself, "“I would give everything I had for a drink right now.” He's unaware that Minx isn't entirely empty.

Valentina had just finished rehearsing her performance for the umpteenth time and she was still frustrated with the way it was turning out. She settled into one of the stools at the bar, leaning her arms and forehead against the cool surface - a frustrated sigh leaving her lips. Her ears perked up at the sound of someone entering the empty club. She turned her head to catch a glimpse of the whoever had joined her, obviously not noticing her as they grumbled to themselves.

She didn’t want to spook them too much so she kept her distance at the bar, still speaking up though; “The bar’s over here if you’re that desperate for a drink.”

“When words fail, music speaks.” Eiji says to explain why he had been singing as he worked. He carries on not minding that she can hear, "Beautiful. I just want you to know, you're my favorite girl."

Shakespeare Meme: Not Accepting

Diana smiled, leaning against the doorframe and listening as Eiji sang. She had not realized that he had noticed her until he spoke and explained why he had been singing in the first place, and she flushed a little, slightly embarrassed about getting caught listening in. “Does complimenting the mochi make it taste better?” She asked, amusement clear in her voice. 

She was not going to complain, though; he had a nice voice. And hey, people sang to plants to make them happier and healthier, so who could say if it would or wouldn’t have a positive effect on food, too. “I’ll leave you to it, then,” she commented, walking further into the room and grabbing a tray of sweets that were ready to go out to the front.

“I have a method to my madness,” Eiji says as he stacks Jenga blocks up. "Watch me."

“Oooooooooh! Show me!” Felix encouraged him excitedly, leaning in close to watch what Eiji was doing. When he had seen the older male playing with the weird blocks, he had been completely captivated-- sure, it was a simple game, but it looked really fun! He definitely wanted to learn how to play, and he supposed that started with stacking the blocks up. 

“So you put some one way and some the other way?” He asked softly, watching very carefully. He wondered if Hyuna knew about this game. It seemed like it would be fun to play with her. “So what do you do after they’re all stacked? Is there a way to win? Can you play with multiple people?”
