Marvel released the 50th issue of the anthology comic Marvel Comics Presents with a cover date of May 1990. In the "Life's End Part III: Breaking Point" segment, the Band of Baddies disbanded and Critical Mass, Savage Fin, and Peter Parker's dentist died. Near the end, Peter Parker fears he is losing his mind and cursed that everyone he knows turns into a super powered baddie eventually. He breaks down in tears, holding Mary Jane begging her to be real and not an illusion. The "Family Affair: Chapter One" segment was written by the actors Bill Mumy and Miguel Ferrer. In the "I Just Flew in from Poughkeepsie and Boy Are My Arms Tired" segment introduced Ekl'r, who was created by Scott Lobdell and Dennis Jensen. In the "You Can't Go Home Again" segment, Rava and the Marauder were introduced. They were created by Ed Simmons and Jack Sparling.
