Scream King - Jeff Goldblum
Mr. Frost
OK, I just finished watching Mr. Frost, and this was a very different beast than any other Jeff Goldblum movie I've watched thus far. Every micro expression was a testament to Jeff's masterful acting ability. In every scene (except 1, which was part of the story) he commanded absolute control of the situation without saying a word. He was charismatic, he was threatening, he was fascinating. In every other movie, I would skim it and skip to the parts with Jeff, but this movie was interesting in it's own right. I watched the whole thing because of how gripping it was.
Some parts were just a touch silly, like the goldfish monologue and perhaps Frost's justification for who he was and why he does what he does, but the movie was very suspenseful. In almost every scene the camerawork was very well done as well. My only critique, and perhaps this is simply a product of the time, but I could tell when they were recording the lines in a studio versus on set, and that took away just a bit of the suspense.
Excellent movie, kind of shocked that I haven't even heard of it until yesterday. If you like suspense, Jeff Goldblum, or stories that focus on the devil, check this one out. (Hair was less than stellar in this movie but you get used to it.) It's free on youtube!
Temper your expectations, it is not a romance. (Although part of me wishes it was~)

I’m most of the way done with The Graveyard Book so here’s some art of how the characters look in my head !!
successful wedding with the family 🥰
7.04 Mr. Frost
Episode:
• I kinda remember Mr. Frost either works for or with Kate and he ends up dissapearing and Kate has to track him down or something. I don’t really remember the details, but I remember not liking it.
• Agent Skinner!! I recognized his voice before I even saw him
• ha there’s frost in Gail’s fishbowl
• oh yeah Chairman Farad dies
• “Are you out of your mind? This is a national campaign, Ted.”
“My name’s Ned.”
• the campaign workers: for the love of god please don’t take any questions!!
Santos and Vinick: about to make a clean getaway until a reporter asks a question they can’t say no to take questions anyway
• always thought it was weird that Annabeth took pills and alcohol in front of Leo
• “Has the speaker called back?”
“No sir, I think he’s onto the fact you’re inviting him to a funeral where there’s a 50/50 chance he’ll wind up dead.”
“Coward.”
• where is Abbey in this episode to be like “Listen here jackass, you are not going to Jerusalem.”
• Annabeth asleep holding Leo’s hand ahh 🥺
• “Ted?”
“My name is Ned.”
Poor Ned lol
• that transition shot of DC looked like something back from the earlier seasons. Maybe it was reused.
• Wow CJ is trying everything to try and engage Bartlet in a conversation and he’s not having it
• So Bartlet is going to Jerusalem?
• ah he feels guilty about Farad dying cause he pushed him into the peace talks
• oh god Frost was right about the other assassination
• oh my god I forgot Toby told CJ he was the leak!!!
• I really think he decided to come clean to her after his conversation with Bartlet.
“The investigation into the leak is focused on CJ.”
“They’ve got it wrong.”
“Apparently they don’t see it that way.”
I think it finally hit him then that CJ was gonna go down for the leak, whether she did it or not. Either he realized he couldn’t let her take the fall for what he did, or he took the fall for someone else or her because he didn’t want to see her go to jail.
Podcast:
• “And meanwhile, Annabeth and Leo.”
“What the hell?”
“I love that they both have two completely different takes on the thing and I don’t know that Leo is just oblivious to just – and Annabeth is right. Or Annabeth is just wrong, but I think it's cute, no matter what’s going on, I think it’s cute.”
• Thought it was insensitive for Annabeth to take pills and alcohol in front of Leo
• Santos has a nice answer about intelligent design at the school, but it doesnt make sense that the campaign didn’t spend time putting an answer together, considering they knew it was gonna come up again in the press.
• The news has the suicide bombing story before the White House does. CJ literally finds out about it on TV.
“Then she's talking to Leo when this happens and she just says, “Find a T.V.” I’m like, like poor guy. Can you just say, “Farad. Bombing.”
“Maybe he's just a huge no spoiler alert kind of guy and so she just wants him to watch it before or she ruins of for him.”
Lmao
• CJ and Kate are in The Situation Room and C.J.s like what's that big red rectangle up on the map? Oh, you know the President of Kazakhstan has been assassinated.”
“And Slattery didn't even think she would know who the President of Kazakhstan would be.”
I know he gives her a look like “Ooooh, you should go on Jeopardy. Look at you.”
• yes Hrishi brought up Josh’s weird claw hand motion!!
• Omg he said it reminded him of David in Schitts Creek lmao
• Charles Frost is the name of a real person who discovered multiple species of fungi.
“I think it’s interesting because that means the one in our show deals with the Sit Room and the real one deals with the mushroom.
these dad jokes are so bad you have to laugh
• Charlie is doing a bad job at subbing in for Margaret. Charles Frost keeps calling for CJ and Charlie can’t figure out who he is or what he wants.
“I think if Margaret were on the job that the President of Kazakhstan might be alive today.”
“I mean not, you know, on purpose but Charlie’s responsible for the man's death.”
lmaooo I’m dead
• ohh Toby might’ve also confessed because he knew if Leo ended up testifying before congress about the leak, it would’ve compromised and possibly ended the Santos campaign. I didn’t think of that.
President Bartlet: Has the Speaker called back yet?
Debbie: No, I think he’s caught on to the fact that you’re inviting him to a funeral where there’s a 50-50 chance he might get killed.
