Being part of a highly classified intelligence organization meant knowing a lot of confidential information. Though the DSO primarily worked in anti-bioterrorism, investigations often pulled them in all sorts of directions. Some leads were more suitable for the FBI, where others required the other numerous alphabet soup agencies in the intelligence community. Leon had come across ("normal") cults, potential serial killers, crime rings, and other criminals. None of whom had anything to do with bioterrorism, but crossover existed more often than not. Someone, somewhere was always looking to get their hands on bow samples, even if they never did.
Unfortunately, Leon hit the nail on the head with this one. The thing about selling bioweapons on the black market was that anyone in the business of buying and selling could get their hands on viral samples with enough money. A mutated version of T-Virus for instance, or some modified version of Las Plagas. He wasn't sure what this particular strain was, but he knew it shouldn't be cropping up in the very expansive basement of a mob-owned hotel.
He held back a sigh as he kicked the remains of some poor asshole who got mauled by God knew what. The body didn't so much as twitch. A glance into what looked like some kind of rec room and someone else holding a gun.
"Don't shoot," Leon said.
The face was familiar if only from the briefest meeting and pictures on a Person's of Interest board discussing possible mercenary work. Leon's finger hovered over the trigger, just as shoot first, ask questions later as they come. But he needed information and if Leon was right, this guy could be an asset.
"Leon Kennedy, DSO." A pause as he risked relaxing his stance. "You the only one here?"
