It is a great fucking movie with a sweet friendship and a soft love story! 

Ellie Chu is a wonderful character!!!!! 

her friendship with Paul is soft and cute and I like her love story with Aster.

I also love that Paul came around in the end and realized that homophobia is bad!!

The movie also has like four interwoven love stories and they’re all given the screen time they deserve and none are treated as lesser than the other

(the love stories are:

Ellie Chu and self love

Ellie Chu and Paul Munsky as platonic besties

Ellie Chu and Aster Flores as romantic loves

Ellie Chu and Mr. Chu as family love )

Also it’s not dialogue heavy, like the movie forces you to look closely at their facial features and body language and the actors body language is so telling! Like it’s so descriptive they’re great!!

Netflix can I have another, pretty please 

(also aster and ellie are really academically smart and it’s great) (idk it reminds me of like period piece romance stories)
