Just me sitting here wondering if the thing that finally pulls Aziraphale away from Heaven completely (aside from missing Crowley b/c 🫠), is that he finds out that not all humans who touched his heart in some way are in Heaven.
Elspeth may be in Heaven if she stuck to her promise to be “prrrrroperllyy goot” and died with many good deeds under her belt.
But Mr. Dalrymple….who was trying to save lives and ease human suffering…he took his own life.
Mr. Dalrymple is in hell.
And Wee Morag…who believed in being good and going to Heaven…who only wanted to help her best friend…who Aziraphale felt such guilt over he was willing to break Heaven’s rules….she died robbing a grave.
Wee Morag is in hell.
wHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT OLIVER WOOD IN GOOD FUCKING OMENS
We all remember Mr. Dalrymple, surgeon not a doctor of Edinburgh…
A simple human who managed to convince Aziraphale he HAD BEEN WRONG!! (No easy feat, as I’m sure Crowley could attest to)… This is a huge turning point, in my opinion. Aziraphale has always had a very black and white view of the world, this is one of those moments where we get to watch him realize that it’s never quite so simple.
In my last watch, though, I realized that we had heard the name before, way back in Season 1… in Sargent Shadwell’s flat.
This is The Thundergun of Witchfinder Colonel Dalrymple.
This show does everything deliberately, so I wonder… who was the colonel? Mr. Dalrymple himself after leaving Edinburgh? An ancestor of his? A descendent?
Thoughts?
Rewatching Good Omens season 2. It just hit me that Mr. Dalrymple is played by Sean Biggerstaff!
Otherwise known for playing teenage heartthrob Oliver Wood.
.....And for incessantly posting leftist vitriol on Twitter, at least back when I had a Twitter and followed him lol. Anyway, it was nice to see him pop up on the screen again and I hope he's doing well.
