The Books . The Animated Description of Mr. Maps
Mr. Maps -- Tennis Party
Post Rock
I love instrumental music. And I have to admit after almost two decades of listening to Joe Satriani and Steve Vai's blend of instrumental rock, I am quite tired of listening to fast Lydian scales and passages I can't play (or maybe just a little bit here and there).
Tonight I stumbled upon these two bands that present Instrumental Rock in a new light. 'Post Rock' is what this genre is called now.
Check them out. Mr. Maps's music is available for free (so far). Sleepmakeswaves is selling their music cheap (2 bucks for an album!). Trippy, funky, loud and cool. And their music is more 'understandable.' I haven't heard any Lydian and Phrygian dominant scales so far.

Thanks for the breath of fresh air guys.
An animated description OF mr. maps. The books.
A sense-mixing condition in which people taste colors or see smells tends to run in families, and recent studies have homed in on a selection of genes that may contribute to the phenomenon, called synesthesia.
A nice mix between Mogwai and Decoder Ring, Mr. Maps are definitely worth checking out.
