You don’t interrupt, not at first. You should. The only ‘fighting’ allowed on the island, really, was gaming competitions, and usually none that were touch involved. It was too easy for this to become…

She takes a few hits as you start to walk over. Neither seem to notice you strolling casually by. Neither seem to care.
But Annie’s too tired to put up a fight for too long. She hasn’t been sleeping. Her body is tense with building anxiety.
So, as much as you wince, as much as you grit your teeth, you watch as she falls.
Despite the situation, you don’t think she’d forgive you if you didn’t give her a chance to fight this kid on her own. She wasn’t so childish that she needed a savior.
Except that’s exactly what you do. Before the student can turn to face you, your fist flies through the air and hits the side of their head, knocking them out before they hit the ground.
Annie gathers in your arms easily and she reflexively curls up against you. Sure, perhaps it’s a bias that you’re protective of your house, perhaps it’s bias that you’d step in for your self-adopted baby sister, but honestly? You don’t care.
She wakes half way to the dorm and you let her on her feet at her door. Then you give her the scolding you know you should. She shouldn’t be fighting. It’s against the rules. She’s sick. She’s tired. That fight could’ve ended up so much worse if you weren’t there.
Perhaps she’s annoyed with you, angry that she’s getting in trouble for what she feels was justified. Damn, if it’s hard for you not to sympathize with her and tell her she’s right. If it doesn’t take all your strength not to just. Forget it all happened.
“So… what happened to the Obelisk, then?”
“…” You give a guilty smile. “… Anyway, fighting is wrong! And you shouldn’t be doing this on campus!”
She looks ready to protest, but you shove her in her dorm and slam the door shut before running off. You don’t need to get lectured for hypocrisy.
