When Kenna had started work that day, she hardly expected to be getting a text from Ryan. Part of her doubted that she’d even hear back from him, but here she was, leaving work with not just a plan to grab dinner with him, but a plan to see him later in the week too. If she were Mari she might be more giddy about it, but she had to slow down and remind herself that Ryan wasn’t the same brand of guy as the cute guy that was clearly head over heels for Mari. Sure, he was smooth. but she kept reminding herself that she’d gotten his number when he was on a date with another girl. At best, she expected this was still a temporary interest. It was one she’d make the most out of, but she didn’t expect it to last. Exiting the restaurant, she glimpsed Ryan waiting with his back to her and smirked. Quietly creeping up behind him, she gripped his sides and leaned over his shoulder. “Hey stalker,” she teased, “Ready for some food?”
