“So I’ve heard,” Austin agreed, “When that Cruiserweight title is mine, how would you like your thanks? Wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m not fair.”

Better now than never, he thought.
Austin was never ungentlemanly, not really. He always prided himself on his respect for women. However, the execution of some of his decisions weren’t exactly the best and he could admit that rather openly. So, it was only fair that they were taken with a little bit of anger, maybe he’d learn one day. Maybe.
He thought he was being playful, fooling around like a lot of them did when they had time to spare but quite clearly, he’d picked the wrong person to draw into it. She was a beautiful woman, with more poise and grace than he’d probably ever witnessed so he should have seen her righteous fury a mile off.
That didn’t stop him from enjoying her rather flustered reaction, at least initially. It took a more violent tone quicker than he had time to react.
The slap stung, and the feeling reverberated up the side of his face. Austin let out a light wince, realising his fatal mistake far too late than was needed. He rubbed at the pain on his cheek and got to his feet, his other hand raised in surrender. “Easy mistake to make, never again” he reasoned, a smile returning to his face. Was he a masochist?
He took a step closer so that they were face to face. “But if you’d be ever so inclined,” he removed his hand from his cheek, and placed both of them in his pockets, “I’d love for you to do that again, it really got me going.”

The words had slipped out easier than he had expected them to, they just came out of his mouth before he could do anything to backtrack them. He didn’t it would phase the woman in front of him, she was hardy, she had dealt with so much worse and had dealt out worse herself. That was something that he was certain of. But when he watched her, waited for her immediate reaction, he hadn’t expected her to freeze.
When she didn’t fire back straight away, Austin felt uncomfortable. Had he been the one to overstep the mark? For so long he’d been pursuing her, making it known that he was interested despite the fact that she appeared disinterested. It was a little cat and mouse between them, he’d stupidly assumed. He got under her skin and infuriated every fibre of her being, that was just how it went. Only now it looked like he couldn’t care less, didn’t want to know.
Why did she listen to him now? It pissed him off a little bit. Every time he complimented her, addressed her with a politeness he never extended to anyone else, she shunned him like he wasn’t worth her time. Now, in the midst of an argument when she’d managed to get on one of his last nerves she chose to believe the words that come out of his mouth.
Despite everything he didn’t have it in him to actually hate her. He didn’t think he was ever capable of doing that from the moment they started butting heads. She was the one person who’d been mistreated, underestimated and he wanted her to feel like she was worth so much more. If people weren’t going to listen to her, then he’d been determined to make them listen. That’s how he felt, that hadn’t changed.
Yet now, everything he’d strived to build between them, whatever that was, was destroyed in a heartbeat. Lana was hurt and he’d been the one to inflict that, he could tell that from her expression alone she’d expected more from him. “Pathetic, yeah I gotta admit that was below the belt,” there was a clear honesty to his tone, a regret that he hoped was conveyed. He hates the way her voice shakes, it fills him with more guilt. “But not mutual, I didn’t mean that,” Austin confessed, “My words got ahead of me.”

Austin wasn’t shy, never hesitated to take what he wanted with both hands. He wasn’t all that impressed by surprises though, if he couldn’t see what was coming something inside of him momentarily short circuited. It was an instantaneous reaction that he was never going to be able to change. Casing the situation gave him an escape route, being caught off guard did not. He hated to look like a deer caught in the headlights.
Which was precisely how he looked when within an instant he felt lips on his. For the shortest of seconds, he returned the favour before the culprit pulled away with a smirk. What baffled him the most was not that he’d been kissed, it was the fact that it was Dolph. The pair of them very rarely crossed paths, most of the S/mackdown roster had cleared out by the time the cruiserweights were due to go out. Was he waiting for him? That he couldn’t answer, though he was sure the answer was no.
Slightly affronted, Austin crossed his arms in front of his chest and regarded the man in front of him. He couldn’t stop the smirk that grew on his face when he heard the word’s come out of his mouth, “Oh cute, if you’d given me more of a heads up I’m sure I could have had that arranged for you,” he paused, shifting to stand his ground, “Unfortunately, it takes more than one mediocre peck on the lips to get me in that kind of mood.”
Y'know what? Kisses? You choose the lucky lady/gent :)))

Dolph was a friendly guy, what could he say? Andeveryone who knew him also knew that he wasn’tpicky about who he locked lips with— if they wereattractive, that was good enough for him. Except Austin Aries and Dolph Ziggler were strangers toeach other, both sporting different team colors andrunning in different circles regardless.
Who was Dolph to turn down a dare, though? He prided himself in being the type of person who could ( and would ) do anything, regardless of how wise that course of action may or may not have been. Reason why he’d scoffed when he’d been dared to kiss the first person he ran into backstage— truth be told, he was a bit surprised to see Aries, but that didn’t stop him from sauntering up to the cruiserweight and planting one right on his lips.
He pulled back already wearing a smirk, eyes lit up with amusement andstill lingering close, witty comment already on the tip of his tongue — ❝ Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? ❞
" I want to kill something." ( TJP and Austin?? )

“Aw boohoo, the King’s squire realise his luck’s run out?” Austin joked, giving him a rather measured look. As far as he was concerned he had no reason to care why TJ was in that particular mood or who it was really directed at. In the thirst for success he’d become a total jackass, an irritance to be around and experience. He had absolutely no sympathy, why should he? “If you expect me to care, you’re sorely mistaken.”
@liabilite liked for a post ppv/raw starter!
“Man shame I couldn’t take a front row seat to TJ’s humiliation hey?” Austin’s knee was still pretty badly beat up from his escapades at the PPV so it was entirely advisable to take a step back. It did make him feel better to see that little crony get his comeuppance even if it was at the hands of the one guy he was still gunning for.
