Continued inspiration from @mrcformoso 's Fic on AO3 "Paper Flowers for the God of Gods! I couldn't get the image of Hua Cheng carefully crafting paper flower after paper flower during his long search for his flower God, (and continuing to craft them even when the paper cuts his hands) so I wanted to make a companion picture for my other painting! I tried making a pale red carnation and a brilliant red carnation/carnation bud, (pale red for admiration and the idea of heartache or longing for the other, and brilliant red for deep love and affection!)

I can finally reveal my MDZS Secret Santa 2023 fic!
My giftee asked for heavy angst with a happy ending and I wrote this through tears to deliver! Please read tags and warnings because this fic deals with heavy issues in canon.
SUMMARY:
Wei Ying always said he has a terrible memory, but the truth was that he was very, very good at packing away the most horrible parts of his life into a closet at the very back of his mind and shrouding it in the dark. Forgetting became a habit. It was the way he preserved his sanity. It was the way he maintained his faith in his peers.
But when a night hunt went wrong, and those memories were released, it is up to his family and closest loved ones to take the burden of his memories, lest Wei Ying implodes in his own grief.

2. Reclaim my old hobbies and get back to doing things that I love
One of my old hobbies was to write and share fanfiction. I used to write years ago in ff.net, but troll culture back then took its toll on me and I stopped writing publicly. I really enjoyed it though, so this year I opened up an AO3 account and had my go. I posted my first fanfic back on March 2023.
13 fics (one will be revealed new year (it's the mdzs secret santa one) later OH MY GOSH. I never expected to receive such a response from the community.
I've seen my fics recommended several times on this site, plus all the fanart I've received. You have no idea how much all of these things mean to me.
I mean, I have you guys to thank for all the love and support you've given me. It's been fantastic going back to writing again, and I honestly cannot believe the amount of positivity I've received.
Thank you for making my 2023. It feels amazing being able to go back and do the thing I love again.
