The big Hamster wheel in the sky...
Yo!
Well… An eventful week…
On Wednesday last week I got invited to an Open Mic night at The Hop which is in the Granary Wharf area of Leeds. I'm very glad I accepted the invite for a few reasons. Firstly, it's a really pleasant venue, and the chap who runs the night is a decent sound engineer as well as a decent performer in his own right. I'd highly recommend those in the Leeds area to pay a visit one Wednesday, I know I'll be back there for certain! Secondly, I got to meet the tremendous Tom Clarke AKA Tomathy's; Tom is the boyfriend of my good YouTube buddy Natalie Holmes, and twas an absolute pleasure to put a physical personage to someone I've been internet bantering with for over a year now!
Some chap has polled mine & Ciara's cover of I Won't Give Up as the number 22 best YouTube cover for January 2012, which is very kind of him, must work harder to get above 22..! Here's the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVDzZ_YvewU&sns=em
Yesterday, I was due to take our Hamster to be put down. Only to discover that she had died before I was able to… She was only a small (and not overly friendly for that matter) rodent… But never the less, she has been a member of our little family for 2 & a half years now, and it's never pleasant when one, no matter how small & furry, has to depart. :-(
I'm playing at 3 weddings this year, and I've just had an equiry for Summer 2013! They apparently have not even booked a venue or exact date yet, but want me to play! That's a very nice compliment indeed! I am turning into Adam Sandler! Haha!
I've had 4 separate, unrelated requests for an MP3 of my Sonique 'It Feels So Good' cover within the past 3 months which is a little strange…!? So I'm thinking of setting up free downloads for any future cover songs I do (I can't sell them of course, as they are not mine to sell).
It's also suddenly dawned on me how little time I have to get the EP ready for release! In the grand scheme of things, I don't need to do a huge amount of work, but it's still work all the same… especially to get things as perfect as possible.
Anyhow, get some questions flying in to me, so I can answer on the next Blog.
Julie Ann Love asked a question the other day: "Will you write a song about me?"
Julie, I will! I promise! I find songwriting tricky at the best of times. It doesn't flow like other people I know. Sometimes it can be a real slog to get something written, but I will endeavour to write one about your good self for certain! I just cannot promise on timeframes… :-(
I had lots of Cheese the other night. I had strange dreams. The End.
