due to religious reasons shes permitted to keep a small dagger concealed under her breast while on duty. even though shes no longer part of the kzinti militia she still wears her identity cuff & bangle (out of habit and guilt).
mrez earned her first name for saving the great patriarch's daughters from a sinkhole. after being a guard, man-killer was her official occuption, and when she joined starfleet, it became her last name in official paperwork.
