"Mr. Wonka doesn't seem to think so!" cried Mrs. Gloop. "Just look at him! He's laughing his head off! How dare you laugh like that when my boy's just gone up the pipe! You monster!" she shrieked, pointing her umbrella at Mr. Wonka as though she were going to run him through. "You think it's a joke, do you? You think that sucking my boy up into your Fudge Room like that is just one great big colossal joke?"
"He'll be perfectly safe," said Mr. Wonka, giggling slightly.
I have a personal headcanon that Augustus’ parents had a hard time conceiving children. Mrs Gloop couldn’t get pregnant for a long time. When she finally did the baby ended up being very sick and couldn’t put on weight and didn’t make it. When she could finally get pregnant again and it ended up a healthy baby, she ended up spoiling him with food because she was so afraid of losing another child. That’s also why she was the oldest mother out of all the parents (based on the actresses ages at the time)
Prompt- Augustus's first Nuremberg Christkindlmarkt visit
[Notes: Probably should have said this before, but I’ll be writing them as Post-Factory, unless specified otherwise. Just made sense to me]
With lights glowing and the smell of good food in the air, Augustus had to admire the Christkindlmarkt before him. He’d been to such before, but not one quite as large and beautiful as the one he ventured through now. He and his Mama walked along the aisles looking at the many market stands that were either side of them. She told him to stay close, but he couldn’t help but want to wander off at times.
Ethel didn't know when it started. It was just the morning tea 'parties' the other two women had pressured her into.
Gertrude had quickly ushered her into Emily's room one morning, with little to no explanation. And there was a table, Emily sitting in one of the three tables with a soft smile on her face.
Oh.
So, Ethel found herself spending every morning with the other two, worries blocked out by light laughter and the absence of alcohol. Mornings filled with stories about their children, that one new room in the factory, that one day at school so many years ago.
AU where teen Augustus and teen Veruca meet during a german- russian reunion for wealthy families.
This is how I think the end of the West End version would have looked if they had decided to use the original script and have the kids come out at the end. The lyrics are from the song "A Little Me" in the musical.
(@ask-frau-gloop liked for a starter!)
Charlie walked along with the rest of the large group of kids and adults, him and Grandpa Joe near the back. The group followed Mr. Wonka down the twisting and turning hallways, keeping his quick pace. He noticed that next to him, one of the parents had her wallet open. He remembered that during reception she had said her last name was Gloop. “Hey, Mrs. Gloop, what’re you looking at?”
