"I Love You My Napfény"
Trigger Warning: Death
Night had fallen over Canterlot Hospital. Flash moved quietly through the room, tending to his mother’s needs.
"Are you comfortable, Mom?" Flash asked softly.
"Yes, thank you, sunshine," Page weakly responded. It was one of her "down" days; she lacked the energy even to move. She had spent the afternoon tucked away in her diary, drafting letters to those she loved most.
Flash was exhausted. He hadn’t had a full night’s rest in days—nor had his father, Blaze, who had stayed pinned to Page’s side.
"Sunshine... get some rest. You look tired," Page said, her eyes brimming with motherly concern. Even at her weakest, her instincts for her son’s well-being never wavered.
Though Flash resisted at first, he eventually slumped into a nearby chair. Blaze was already fast asleep beside the bed. Before long, Flash lost his battle with exhaustion and drifted into a deep slumber.
Page was the only one left awake. Her eyes remained fixed on Flash, watching the steady rise and fall of his chest. A strange sensation washed over her tonight—not pain or fear, but a profound sense of peace.
Her magic flickered to life, lifting a quill and a blank parchment. She had a feeling this would be the last time she saw him like this, and she had one final thing to say. She wrote slowly, her gaze never leaving her son. When she finished the brief note, she folded it and set it beside her, his name inscribed on the front.
With a soft grunt of effort, she used the last of her strength to lean toward her husband. She pressed a gentle kiss to his head.
"I am forever grateful for you, my beloved," she whispered. Blaze stirred slightly but didn't wake. "My thief who stole my heart and gave me the gift sleeping peacefully in this room. I wish I could stay longer... grow old with you... but the world has a different plan. Don't let my parting stop you from living. Your son will need you. Experience the life for me that I cannot. I love you, forever and after."
Tears of gratitude fell, landing softly on her sleeping husband. She pulled back slowly, resting her head so she could watch Flash one last time. As her eyes grew heavy, she drifted off with a smile, finally at peace.
It felt like an eternity had passed when Flash was jolted awake.
"Flash! FLASH! Wake up!"
Flash shot up, startled by his father’s frantic shaking. Sunlight streamed through the window. "What’s going on?" he asked, rubbing his eyes.
Blaze didn't answer. He only wore a look of hollow sorrow.
Flash turned toward the bed. Nurses were tending to his mother, but they weren't rushing. Their movements were somber as they began disconnecting the medical devices. Flash’s gaze landed on his mother’s face. Her muzzle held a faint smile, her eyes were closed, and every muscle was finally, completely relaxed.
Reality hit like a physical blow. She was gone.
His breathing grew heavy as he approached the bedside. No tears fell yet; his mind was still trying to process the stillness of her face. He noticed a piece of parchment tucked under her hoof. With a shaking breath, he took the paper and unfolded it.
"Szárnyalj magasan, napsugaram. A világnak sok története van, és a tiéd még mindig íródik. Szerelmünk az időn túl is tart. Később találkozunk, napsugaram. Szeretlek."
(Keep flying high, my sunshine. The world has many stories, and yours is still being written. Our love will last beyond time. I'll see you later, my sunshine. I love you.)
The words echoed in his head as if she were standing right beside him. Flash let the paper slip to the floor as his vision blurred. He began to shake, his teeth gritting shut as his wings flared in a sharp burst of grief.
He had been a lost colt for so long, wondering where he came from. Fate had brought him back to his mother for only a week—just long enough to find his answers before losing her again. A broken sob finally escaped him.
Blaze sat beside his son, tears rolling silently down his cheeks. He draped a heavy wing over Flash’s shoulders, offering the only comfort he could. Fate had brought them together for one week of joy and frustration, but most importantly, love. Now, it was time to mourn.

Lore Post 3!! This one was quite heavy.
I decided to dedicate this post in honor to my Brother-In-Law's mom, who passed away almost 2 weeks ago. Rest in Peace Kathi.
