As one of the winners of my 500 follower giveaway, @mrsvioletwrites won a Spotify playlist curated by yours truly. She chose her excellent fic, The Premier and Her Liege as the inspiration. I was excited to pull this together as I had recently binged the whole story and absolutely loved it. Seriously, it’s one of the most original Reylo fics I’ve read so far and it is a fascinating take on both the arranged marriage trope while also being a modern Hades and Persephone AU. I can’t recommend it highly enough. You should definitely check out the fic and maybe give the playlist a listen while you read!

Those are such great questions!!
A: How did you come up with the title?
Songs of Innocence, Songs of Wisdom is directly taken from William Blake’s Poem Songs of Innocence, Songs of Experience. I chose this title not only because I’m in love with Blake’s poetry, but also because the fic is Rey’s journey from Innocence to Wisdom. So, in that regard, the first part of the fic deals with her innocence, discovering herself, discovering her desires and attraction to Kylo but also facing death and sorrow. The last part will be when she gains Wisdom, after a Spiritual journey that has taken her deep into the truths about herself, about her bond with Kylo and how to help and love him. B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
Absolutely. In a way, I’m telling my story through Rey. I discovered the spiritual teachings which heavily inspire the fic at an early age, and I had a similar growth as Rey did. I went from being a stupid, innocent kid to a mature (well, SO SO *eye-sides my pervy self*) adult, capable of facing tragic events and staying strong. I also learned to Love thanks to these teachings and opened myself and learn what is important in life
and cut the bullshit.
C: What character do you identify with most?
In this regard, I’d say Rey. She’s got a lot of who I am in the fic. She suffers, she’s strong, she tries to be kind and most of all, she learns (and makes mistakes!) But I also relate to Kylo SO MUCH, because I lived many things he goes through, mainly abandonment issues and dealing with self-loathing a lot.
I think@raven-maiden should read this ask, as we were just talking about these themes!
