CHAPTER 1 | Read here on AO3.
(It’s a slow porcess but I’m currently working on Chapter 2. No worries, can be read as an one shot.)
Summary: Angst leads to comfort and talking leads to lust. As Scully tries to leave last night's ministrations, she gets stopped because Mulder's building is in lockdown.
Rating: Three guesses: Ha, yes Explicit!
Mulder placed his hand on Scully’s lower back as he guided her out the elevator. As they walked side by side, a sigh of relief could be heard from miles with every step they reached closer to the exit of the J. Edgar Hoover Building.
“Scully, I want you to take as much rest as you possibly can.” He pressured her when he let her slip under his arm, out of the building. “This case…” He sighed. He referred to the horrible and unforgettable case they just closed. Well, kind of closed. The road trip, as Skinner put it, had really played with their minds. Stuck under the ground, thinking they were living it up above the ground. They talked, they walked, and never came to the idea that it was all fake. It all seemed so real. Scully couldn’t bear the thought of what would’ve happened to them if Mulder hadn’t cracked it. They would rot and die without anyone’s knowledge. It kept her awake, and Mulder noticed. Though he was frightened of what happened too, he felt sure that it was now all over. All in the past. But Scully’s nightmares told her otherwise.
Scully nodded and looked up at the bright blue sky. She took a deep breath and looked back at Mulder. He was just staring at her and the cars coming by. “I know,” She nodded, still not moving away from the building. “I’m just tired.” Her eyes closed and Mulder placed his hand behind her head and pulled her in for a hug. Her hands slipped from her jacket pockets to his sides and shifted her head to lean against his chest. “You’re here,” Mulder stroked her hair. “and I’m here, and we’re safe.” He reassured her. Scully nodded and calmed down by the movements of his hands on her hair and back.
“Are you just tired or also hungry? ‘Cause I’m starving.” Mulder smiled as he pulled Scully off of his chest. “Very hungry too,” She softly muttered. “I’ll cook you something,” Mulder said as he dragged her along the street, Scully’s mind still groggy from the calming hug. “Cook? For me? Mulder, I didn’t even know you had a stove to begin with.” Scully joked. Mulder laughed in a sarcastic way.
After they were found in the ground, and Mulder reached out his hand to hold her hand, he knew he never wanted to let it go. He wanted to hold onto her forever. As soon as her shaky fingers made contact with his, he knew they were safe. That night, which was only two days ago, had changed them forever. Not only as a pair but also as individuals. They both walked to work that morning. Their reason was that they wouldn’t dare to sit in a confined space, not even for the short drive.
“So, what are you thinking?” Mulder asked as he pushed his keys in the door. “Hmm?” Scully hummed. “Food-wise, what are thinking?” He tried again. “Oh, I guess whatever you have laying around.” She smiled sleepily. Mulder turned around and smiled back when he opened the door. Mulder walked into the kitchen, dropping his jacket over one of the chairs. Scully watched him open the refrigerator and sigh in annoyance. He better had some food in there, she thought. She turned and moved into the living room, better known as his bedroom. She fell onto his couch and sighed deeply as she let her eyes close.
‘Mulder, what if we’re being digested?’
Scully’s eyes shot open and her eyes roamed around the room. She sighed frustrated and dry-washed her face with her hands.
Mulder walked out of the kitchen with a guilty look on his face. Scully moved her hands away from her face and stared up at him. “Funny story,” Mulder started. “Ugh!” Scully proclaimed as she let her head fall back on the couch. “I’ll order something!” Mulder rushed the alternative and quickly opened the drawer of his bureau, retrieving some take-out places he usually would order off of. “Okay,” Scully sighed with a sad giggle. Mulder showed her some of the menus and held the forward for her to pick her favorite. Scully chose Thai, arguing that ‘that one at least has real vegetables in it’. Mulder agreed but was in the mood for pizza. Scully obviously won.
As soon as the call ended, Mulder fell back on the couch next to Scully. She groaned when the couch protested to his sudden placement. It wasn’t very lit in Mulder’s apartment, almost all the lamps were off, except for the ones on his bureau and next to his sofa. It made them both feel sleepy, more than they already were. Scully sighed as she felt safe enough to close her eyes and listen to everything happening outside Mulder’s window. Cars drove by, their headlights beaming in the apartment before sliding across the walls and disappearing. She could see it behind her eyes.
Mulder turned his face to look at Scully. She looked relaxed, which made his heart fill with contempt. She actually looked like she might fall asleep. Mulder leaned a bit forward, leaning his elbow on his knee, and searched Scully’s face from afar. Noticing, Scully opened one eye and grinned.
“Talk to me, Scully, or that poor delivery guy has to wake us both,” Mulder mumbled. Scully yawned and kicked off her shoes. “Have you ever thought about what would’ve happened if we were still stuck in there now, the ground I mean,” Scully asked, pulling one leg under the other. “You think we’re still in it?” Mulder questioned. He seemed pretty sure they broke the spell, but if Scully suspected something, there must’ve been some truth to it.
“No, at least I hope not,” She sighed. “I just can’t shake the thought of dying there, it’s terrifying to me.” Scully was never one to open up her feelings too quickly. But she was tired of having this roaming around in her head, nobody but her feeling the effects of her thoughts. It was eating her up on the inside. “Scully, please,” He took a hold of her hand and stared at her face.
“I’m sorry, this is affecting you too, I’m being selfish…” Scully looked around the room and retracted her hand from his grasp. “Don’t say that, of course, it’s affecting me but this is some heavy shit, Scully, allow yourself to process it!” He sadly laughed. Dumbfounded by the thought that she thought she was being selfish by expressing her feeling of horror.
Mulder leaned back into the couch and stared blankly in front of him, mirroring Scully. “The truth is that I have thought about it,” Mulder spoke. Scully turned her gaze on him but didn’t respond. “I’m sure we got out but,” He shook his head. “the fear is still there, it was a scary situation we found ourselves in!” He defended. “Yeah,” Scully simply sighed. “I almost feel.. claustrophobic.” Mulder's eyebrows lifted and he glanced at her. “Are you claustrophobic?” He asked. He never asked, it almost seemed impossible because of all the small spaces they found themselves in, both literally and figuratively speaking. Scully lifted her shoulders and shook her head unknowingly.
They both felt like they dwelled enough for now. They were alright and safe and waiting for food that took extraordinary long to get here. Mulder pulled up his wrist and looked at his watch before leaning in to take ahold of the remote. He put on some show before telling her he was gonna change into something comfortable.
Mulder slipped past her legs and suddenly stopped and turned his body away from the bedroom door when the doorbell rang. Scully almost made an ‘oh goody’ sound and shook off her blazer in preparation for the well-deserved meal. Mulder got handed the warm plastic bag in exchange for a 20 dollar bill. Mulder thanked the boy and shut the door. He excitedly placed the food on the table and sat down next to Scully, completely forgetting about his earlier plan to change.
“Mhm..” Scully shifted forward and started pulling out all the contents, the mixed smells of seasoning, noodles, and vegetables filled the apartment. Their entire mood had shifted faster than light travels. “Do you need a fork?” Mulder asked and Scully simply shook her head. They fell back against the couch and filled their mouths, small satisfying grunts leaving after a bite. It made Mulder giggle a little. Their day could contain the most horrible events, and yet, when there’s food, a calm night, and most importantly his partner by his side, it all didn’t matter.
“What are you smiling about?” Scully noticed and shook him out of his thoughts. “Just, eh, it’s nothing.” He shrugged. “Who’s the girl?” Scully teased. “There’s no girl! I was just thinking about everything that happened,” Mulder defended with a laugh. “Remind me when there was something to laugh about?” Scully placed her leg under her, shifting her body towards Mulder.
“It seems that whenever something awful happens we still end up fine, enjoying the evening together.” Mulder sighed when he leaned to grab a can of cheap beer. “It’s almost like no day can beat us.” He added with a huff. Scully’s lips tightened and formed a small smile while she rolled her eyes. “There are a few days that almost succeeded in beating us.” She grimly said. Mulder held a bit of his drink in his mouth, pushing it around with his cheeks before it slid down his throat. He stared at Scully as she spoke.
“Scully, what was your favorite case to work on?” He changed the subject. She was hurting, the pain and stress still coursing through her body. All Mulder wanted, and also needed for himself to get over the pain, is to know that she was okay. Mentally and physically. He needed to see her smile, to see that glimmer in her eyes when it sparkled as it did when she was either deep in thought or doubled over laughing. He wanted to see all the pain that filled her flow away.
“Hm,” She looked up at the ceiling. Mulder’s eyes never leave her face. A smile formed on his face as he saw that glimmer form in her eyes. “I have multiple.” She stated firmly as she finally met his gaze. “Do tell.” Scully shifted a little in her seat as if she was in deep thoughts again. “Well,” She sighed. “I love the ones with the crazy autopsies. Just me in my scrubs, you breathing down my neck trying to see if I proved one of your theories yet.” She grinned. “But I also love the dumber ones.”
Mulder stuttered and looked a little shocked. “What dumb cases did we take on according to you?” He asked, genuinely looking surprised. “They’re not dumb, but just the funny ones, the ones where I’m also just enjoying myself and where it feels like we’re not even really on a case.” She started to explain. Mulder still didn’t seem to understand what she meant so she explained further. “Let’s say,” She thought for a second and then softly let her hand fall to her thigh. “For instance, the Rain King, what was his name again?” “Daryl Mootz.” Mulder laughed and Scully quickly nodded at his quick response.
“I’m aware we were investigating a serious weather problem, but when it ended up being a love story, I felt like…” She searched for the right words. “I don’t know, but helping Sheila in that bathroom felt like I was back in high school almost.” Scully laughed. Mulder sat up straight and turned his body more towards her. “You two were gossiping in the bathroom,” Mulder remembered. He hadn’t even thought about how Sheila suddenly was so open to the idea of being with Holman. He knew they talked, but he didn’t take Scully for the gossiper back in high school, the thought amusing him.
“What did you say?” Mulder asked her. Scully scoffed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “Don’t judge my therapeutic skills but it was along the lines of,” Scully scraped her throat and shifted. “First she told me she didn’t suspect a thing about Holman being in love with her,” She explained and Mulder nodded, eager to hear how she gave the love advice that saved Kansas. “I said: ‘It seems to me that the best relationships, the ones that last, are often rooted in friendship. And one day you look at that person and you suddenly see something more than you did the night before. And the person that was just a friend suddenly is the only person you can imagine yourself with.’” She said. Mulder’s mouth was slightly open as he searched her expression. Did she get this advice from someone else or was this personal experience she told Sheila and now him about? “It’s not word for word but that’s more or less what I said.”
Mulder was quiet, soaking in her words. They felt like an enigma. Her words danced around in his head, he understood them, but couldn’t place them. Maybe they didn’t mean anything, but Mulder didn’t believe that. “She also asked about us,” She followed up, Mulder’s ears almost spiked up. “I’m not sure I can tell, girl-code.” She zipped her mouth with her hand and laughed. “What can you tell?” He grinned, never before being so intrigued in what gossip went around about them. Gossip involving Mulder and Scully was more than present at the office already. And maybe people also mistook them for a couple when checking in at motels and police stations or even morgues.
“She uh, obviously had quite the crush on you.” Scully giggled. “She asked me if we had ever done anything.” She rolled her eyes her wide smile betrayed her. “She asked me if we kissed and then she went: ‘Trust me, the man can kiss.’” Scully laughed a little louder, Mulder joining in. “That kiss was so embarrassing.” Mulder’s head fell back and his hand planted on his chest. Scully laughed a little louder, she felt bad for him, seeing Sheila come onto him like that must’ve been a shocker for him, knowing he’s blind to other people's interest. “Yeah, I thought that was pretty hilarious when I thought back on it.”
“Was your time at high school a lot like it was in Kansas?” He asked her. Scully stayed a little quiet, Mulder could see she wasn’t really in thought, more just realizing something. “I told you about my time at high school.” She simply stated. Mulder’s brows furrowed and slowly shook his head. “I don’t think you have spoiled me with the stories of your wild teen lifestyle.” He said and Scully sighed. “Those I would never try to forget.” He laughed and Scully grinned too.
“I told Van Blundt-Mulder.” She said with her head low, still high enough for him to see she wasn’t sad, but rather just trying to avoid eye contact. Mulder let out an ‘Aahh,’ of realization and propped his arm on the head cushion, leaning his head on his hand. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have-“ She started. “No it's fine,” He nodded softly. “It was a weird moment.” He sighed. Scully didn’t really respond and he figured that probably want the best thing to say right now. Instead, he thought about trying to make it less of an awkward moment in their partnership.
“Do you mind telling me what happened?” Mulder asked. Like Scully explained the Sheila-bathroom experience, she started softly telling him how he disturbed her evening of research. She continued how the wine obviously affected her way of thinking but that his flirtatious remarks didn’t go unnoticed. And when Van Blundt-Mulder leaned in, that Mulder probably remembered what happened after.
“Did you really think it was me?” He asked softly. The tension had shifted, it became apparent to Scully that she probably was going to have to come clean. “I did,” She nodded. “And when I or he leaned in?” He swallowed a small lump that formed in his throat. “Well, I was taken by surprise, but,” She sighed. “Yeah, I still thought it was you.” Mulder was quiet and just nodded while Scully watched him process this new information. He didn’t see them kissing, and Scully already told him they hadn’t, but that was all he knew. Mulder refused to listen to Scully’s explanation after they caught Van Blundt.
“Mulder, are you okay?” Scully asked him, shaking him out of his thoughts. Mulder nodded and bit his lower lip lightly. “You- you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to,” He started. Scully sighed and nodded slowly, signaling for him to continue talking. “We’re you,” Mulder shifted and sighed. He seemed a bit frustrated, the question had probably been roaming around in his head for quite some time but never had the right moment to ask it. “We’re you going to let him?”
Scully raised an eyebrow, not in confusion but she was taken by surprise. “Kiss you, I mean.” Mulder followed up quickly, now committed to finding out. Scully searched his face and lightly bit her lip from the nervousness. It wasn’t so much confessing this to him, it happened a while ago, but she knew that when he tried now, she would still let him.
She then looked down in her lap and tightened her lips together. Mulder sighed and sat back against the couch. He didn’t need a vocal answer, the one she gave him now screamed the answer yes. Mulder let out a deep breath. “I was so mad when I found you there.” He said lowly. Scully looked up at him with a deep frown on her face. “I wasn’t mad at you,” He rushed with his hands, earning a huff of laughter from Scully. “I was so mad at myself, Scully, you mean the world to me,” He stared into her eyes. “And I wanted nothing more than the courage to tell you that every day, tell you more than that, tell you that I wanted what Eddie almost got.” He confessed to her.
Scully placed her hand on his cheek and scurried closer to him on the couch. Her other hand explored the back of his head and hair. “Oh Mulder,” Her eyes roamed his face with such adoration. “I was so mad to find out it wasn’t really you, I missed out on the thing I wanted most.” She breathed and she was met with his hands sliding over her thighs to her hips and sides. Mulder knew it was now or never, her gaze was fixated on his lips and he smiled before he took her jaw in his hand and leaned in.
He kissed her plump lips a little harder than he intended to. But even the glimpse of roughness was softer because of her. She gasped at the intensity of the kiss and pressed herself into his lap. Their tongues fought for dominance as their hands reached all places they could. Mulder's hand stayed glued to her jaw and his fingers played with the strands in her hair. Scully’s hands held her body higher as they were planted on Mulder's thighs. Mulder's hands moved down and lifted her hips, motioning her to sit on his lap entirely.
Mulder groaned as her weight shifted over his hardening member. He was honestly a bit embarrassed she made him hard so quickly. He knew Scully would understand, this being incredibly arousing. A fantasy playing out in front of him, that’s what it felt like. Her hair fell past his face as she cupped his chin. Mulder held her back, sliding over her shoulder blades and spine.
Scully pulled back and looked at his face for a reaction to what already happened. But Mulder was faster in taking away any doubt she had about insecurities. Mulder took her hair and placed it sweetly behind her ear, knowing well it wouldn’t stay put. His hands separated and one slid to the small of her back, pulling her into his form. The other went up to the back of her neck as he leaned in and pressed small kisses along her exposed neck.
“Is this okay?” He asked breathily. She nodded with an open mouth, her head slowly falling back as he devoured her neck. “You’re so beautiful.” He praised, his hands settling on her hips. Scully gasped as Mulder bit lightly on a part of her neck, then apologizing by licking it softly. Mulder thrust his hips upward and they both moaned at the pressure. Scully’s nails lightly grazed his neck and shoulders before she let her hands wander over his chest.
She could feel his breathing dramatically making his chest rise and fall under her hands. She slipped them lower until she was met with the end of his shirt, rolling it up in her hands and pulling it higher. Mulder groaned when he got separated from her neck, a small moment of blackness blocking his sight.
He was met again with a lustful look on Scully’s face. One he had never had the pleasure of seeing yet. Her hair was slightly ruffled and her lips were big and thoroughly kissed, but not enough according to Mulder. He groaned again and kissed her deeply before he placed his hands under her thighs. He held her tightly against him and lifted himself up, standing in the middle of his living room shirtless with Scully clinging onto him.
He walked them into his bedroom and mumbled some unintelligible words as he sat her down in the middle of his bed. She started swaying in the bed and before Mulder could steal a kiss she looked around with a slightly frightened look on her face. Mulder hung over her with his hand next to her face and body and looked at her face changing in one trying to hold her laugh in. “Forgot you had a waterbed.” She said with a smirk. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He laughed as he settled himself in between her legs. The waterbed luckily didn’t make things all too bouncy and uncomfortable, it actually made more space for Mulder to lay by her without crushing her.
Scully had her hands on his chest and smiled with her teeth biting her lip. Mulder could just smelt from the loving look in her eyes. He kissed down her neck to her collarbone. His hands grazing her stomach and pushing her shirt up as Scully did earlier to him. He was met with a beautiful white cotton bra. It was so simple, yet he was fascinated by how well it matched her creamy skin. Mulder kissed the top of her breasts as Scully pulled her shirt off her forearms and threw it onto the ground.
She moaned when her breasts were suddenly out in the open air. Her bra was nowhere to be found, she hadn’t even felt him take it off. Her hardening nipples stood proudly as Mulder kissed around one, giving the other attention with his hand, gently grabbing at them. Scully’s hand shot to his hair and buried themselves in his locks. Her chest rose and fell intensely, making it difficult for Mulder to keep her still under her. She bit her lip and arched her back forwards.
As Mulder kissed below her breasts, onto her stomach, he unfastened her pants and slid them down her legs. She lightly kicked her feet, helping to get rid of them faster so she could feel him again. Mulder straightened his back and gazed up Scully shifting around on his bed, her body all sprawled out for him. “You’re heaven.” He growled and planted his hands on her abdomen, putting slight pressure on it. He continued kissing her face, neck, and chest as his fingers dipped below her underwear. Scully moaned at the sudden contact of his cold finger on her heat. He caught some of her wetness before he focused his attention on her clit.
Mulder moved down her body and held her underwear to the side. Scully lifted up her head, she wanted to see him touch her where she wanted him most. She could see Mulder’s eyes flickering between her face and her breasts. Mulder licked her labia and followed up immediately with strong suction on her clit. She wanted to watch, but it was too damn good. Her face fell backward and a cry escaped her lips. Her hands rested on the bed and on his shoulder, pulling him closer to her with her legs.
“God, Mulder,” She breathed and moaned loudly after he entered two fingers in her. He hadn’t even been there for a minute and she could already feel herself come impossibly close to the edge. He quickened the pace of his fingers and continued licking and teasing her clit before she was a crying mess under him. “No more waiting, please,” Scully moaned. Her words turned Mulder on more than ever and he was all too tempted to take care of a little problem of his own. But Scully began to still and moan as her legs shuddered lightly against his face, her wetness covering his fingers and face more than it already had. “That’s it,” Mulder groaned as he pushed his fingers in a final time, retracting them only to clean them with his mouth.
Scully’s eyes were stuck somewhere in her head and a hazy smile spread on her face. Mulder smiled to himself, taking her uselessness as a compliment. He lightly tapped her thigh and chuckled as her head shifted to face him again. “Are you okay?” He asked. He took off her underwear, leaving her wide open for him. Mulder laid himself down next to her and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “Yeah, sorry, I’ll be right with you.” She chuckled. Her hand grazed along his cheek and she smiled up at him. Mulder leaned down and kissed her softly. Their lips were much less in a hurry, their movement careful like they didn’t want to break the other. Scully seemed to be doing a lot better and moved her hand up to his stomach once again.
“Where do you want me?” Mulder asked, his hand stuck on her hip, ready to keep her under him or throw her over him. “Can we stay like this?” She answered with another question. Mulder was more than happy to stay like this. He moved his body between her thighs again after pulling off his jeans and underwear in one swift motion. Their bodies flush against one another.
They resumed kissing but it felt so much more intimate, so much closer. “You feel so warm.” Mulder nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck and she played with his hair. Mulder breathed in her scent, feeling the soft tips of her hair against his skin. His hands moved over her thighs, her feet moving over his. “All because of you, Mulder.” She smiled and kissed his forehead. Mulder watched her from his comfortable position and smiled.
He lifted himself and aligned his cock with her folds. She was even warmer there. Scully breathed out a bit nervously and smiled up at him. Mulder kissed her as he slid himself inside her, causing Scully’s mouth to gasp loudly. He waited before pushing in all the way, letting her body relax so she could take it all. Mulder stroked her hair over her ear and kissed her sweetly when he pulled out again, only to bring his hips back to hers again.
They moaned in unison as they made love. This didn’t feel like just a horny pair with built-up sexual tension letting go, this was passionate, something personal. Her hands held onto his back as he started picking up pace, enjoying the soft whimpers and pleas escaping from her lips. Her legs clung on his back as he pushed deeper into her, her moaning only increasing. “Fuck,” Mulder groaned with his eyes closed, he couldn’t believe this was happening right now. He had fantasized countless times how they would be together in the throes of passion, but he could never have imagined the bliss he was in right now.
“Can I be on top?” Scully asked in between breaths. Mulder's eyes widened and he bit his lip as he nodded frantically. He turned them around, making her groan as he still was deep inside her. “Sorry,” He muttered. Scully quickly rose and fell back down on his length, taking Mulder by surprise. He popped his thumb in his mouth and brought it to her clit, making her cry. Her hands held onto his torso as she bounced on top of him.
“You feel incredible.” Mulder groaned, his eyes shooting close in pleasure. “Mulder,” She moaned and he felt her tighten around him. She grabbed a hold of his arm and Mulders arm snaked around her lower back to help her keep pace. “I’m close, I’m close, don’t stop,” She whispered like a mantra. Mulder sat up, kissing her before he landed his lips back on her neck. Scully began to cry and moan, her walls had a death-grip on Mulder. He bit his lip, almost tasting the blood. They both came with endless grunts and moans, giggling as Mulder fell back on the bed and took Scully with him.
He held her in his arms, slowly pulling out and letting his soft member rest on her inner thigh. He nuzzled her close to his chest and whispered sweet nothings in her ear. He pulled the blanket up and scooted her closer, almost melding together as one, he wished he could.
They had fallen asleep together. Not only did they sleep together, but they had sex. Hot, passionate, and intimate sex. Scully’s eyes flickered open, a ray of sunlight covering the bed. Her vision was slightly blurred but she could hear soft breaths and snores coming from her right. She blinked a couple of times and could feel the aftermath of last night’s ministrations on her body. She felt dirty, not because they slept together, not slept but slept-slept, but from the sweat and… exchanged liquids on her body.
She moved slightly, Mulders back was facing her as he crawled up like a ball. She groaned as she felt a sharp sting shoot to her nervous system, her calves cramped as she moved to sit up. She tried her best not to wake him up, she looked over his shoulder and found he was still fast asleep. She bit back a smile, turned her face away from him, and stood up to pick up her clothes. She wasn’t in a hurry, but she wasn’t planning on staying very long either. She reasoned with herself that she just needed to go home, take a bath there and figure out what all this meant later. Not wanting to worry about all the FBI- regulations they broke in the last 12 hours, or worse… feelings that needed explanation.
She barely took any time clothing herself and using the bathroom, finding a hairbrush she used to straighten out any symptom of a bedhead. She took one final glance before she walked out of his bedroom, picking up her shoes at the table by his couch and placing them under her arms, planning on putting them on in the hallway. She opened the front door and stared at something she wasn’t expecting. Her quick glance couldn’t make out all the features but it looked like a white quarantine door made from thin plastic, the things shower curtains are made of.
Someone must have heard her opening the door and a man in a large white suit walked over to her. His set was all complete, the giant mask over his head, an oxygen tube going from his mask to the obvious canister behind his back. What kind of apocalypse movie did she accidentally step foot in? “Madam, please don’t panic, can I get your name?” The man in the suit spoke. Scully dropped her heels to the ground and tried to look further into the hallway. “What the hell is happening?” She asked strongly.
“Scully?” A hoarse voice from behind called. She turned around and saw Mulder walk towards the door, his hand rubbing the sleep from his eyes, only wearing his pants. “Sir, are you Fox Mulder?” The man asked him, Mulder only nodding to confirm. “We have quite the situation here, I understand you are an agent with the bureau so I must inform you that, however, you have experience with these kinds of things, this is out of your hands.” He said sympathetically. “What kind of situation?” Scully pressured. The man looked at her. “I’m FBI too!” She stated loudly.
“Your building currently is in lockdown, we have disease control roaming the building but the only thing this means for you is to stay put.” He nodded sternly to the both of them, his eyes flickering between the pair. “I have other doors to attend to, I’ll be with you in a moment,” He said with his hand raised to try and calm them. Their mouths almost hung open with the sudden information on the early morning. “Oh, and please keep this door closed until we come to contact you.” He walked off and Scully walked into the living room. Mulder closed the door behind them and looked at his feet.
“We’re you-“ He breathed in deeply, getting her attention and meeting her eyes. “We’re you leaving?”
