Seriously? Tonight all Roseanne had wanted was a night out on the town with Nathan. The party was a formal one; consequently not something she had the desire nor the attire for. However, she figured that perhaps Nathan might enjoy it, and besides, she enjoyed making up whole new persona’s for herself just for fun. —-In this case her name was Susanne Livingston, a successful businesswoman from New York who was sporting a little black dress, red lip stick and those god awful high heels. Susanne Livingston was an amusing façade; but as Nathan’s arm wound around her frame and the words were whispered in her ear, Roseanne Walker had to take charge. Cursing under a fake smile, the huntress let the angel guide her, words released from clenched pearly whites.
❝ Nothin’ I ain’t already used to. I only have a small silver dagger on me right now, but if worse comes to worst, I got my weapons bag in the car.❞
Just as they passed another crowd, Roseanne laughed lightly, playing up the charade by tucking her head against the side of Nathan’s shoulder.
Nathan suspected that his young companion had somehow hidden a weapon in that fetching little dress she had put on for the evening, but it was comforting to know that his assumption turned out correct. He was not without his toys as well, but his took some time to set up in order to be of any use to them.
"Always come prepared, right?"
Nathan grinned down at the huntress as he said that. Yes, the situation looked dire, and anyone else would be scared out of their minds right now, but they weren't just anyone. He had faced worse odds than this hundreds of times before and Rose was an incredibly resourceful and fierce individual. He had faith that the two of them would be able to find a way out of this mess.
Just as he thought this the Fallen angel turned his head to glance over his shoulder to check and see if anyone was following them out just in time to catch a waiter setting down the tray of horderves he was serving to the guests and almost too quick for Nathan to catch he realized that the server had pulled a gun from under his jacket and turned the barrel of the weapon towards them.
Nathan only had enough time to mutter a very unangelic word before pulling Rose into his chest and moving his body so that it was directly between her and the gun. Less than a second passed and then Nathan heard the sharp retort of gunfire. The angel felt bullets strike against the sloppy force shield he had called up. The barrier held, for the most part. Nathan only felt one of the projectiles get through and hit him squarely on the shoulder but that was relatively okay. The wound would be irritating, but it wouldn't kill him. It would take much more than that to put him down, but unfortunately his companion wasn't as durable. They had to get out of there quickly before the rest of them decided to pull out whatever weapons they had brought to the party and tried their luck at trying to kill them. Who knows, maybe one of them would succeed. But Nathan wasn't planning on sticking around to find out.
"Run! I'll be right behind you."
With those words Nathan pushed Rose forwards towards the exit and swiftly turned around to face the mob of party -goers. As he moved, Nathan gathered as much power as he could with the time he had and concentrated it into a single attack. It would be messy and loud, but hopefully it would buy them enough time.
"Party's over!"
Nathan's proclamation cut through the dull murmur of conversation that had previously filled the room. It became so quiet so quickly that Nathan wondered whether the idle chattering was just another part of the ruse but that was something he would need to think about another time. Before the fake guests could make a move, the angel took a deep breath, held his arms out wide, and then slammed his hands together with as much force as he could muster.
As soon as his hands collided there was an explosion of energy and force that radiated out and away from Nathan, hitting all those well dressed assassins head on and knocking most of them completely off their feet. He didn't stick around long enough to see who was remaining after his attack. After he was sure that his spell had done what it was supposed to he turned on his heal and headed after Rose.
