Giggling, Marlene shook her head, putting all of her weight in the opposite direction Remus was trying to lead her. It wasn’t often she got this drunk. Over the years she had developed an amazing tolerance for alcohol and could hold her liquor better than anyone in the school. But when you start drinking before the sun is up, by the time it’s down, even Marlene would be a little trashed. It was their last party, though, and she was having fun.
“You, sir, are a party pooper.” Her words were slurred and she giggled again, just leaning in Remus’ arms at this point. Usually she was the one taking care of her drunk friends. It was only a matter of time until the tables were flipped. “It’s not even bed time.” No, that had gone by several hours away. “And I’m fine. You think I’m not, but I’m good. So good. Even better if you get me another shot and,”
Trailing off, she narrowed her eyes and put both hands on Remus’ shoulders, swaying a little. “And I’ll be even better if you stop moving. Why’re you moving?” She asked and as she went to take a step forward, suddenly the ground was way too close to her face. Breaking into giggles again when Remus just barely stopped her from having a meeting with the ground, she squealed when she was thrown over his shoulder, kicking her feet out playfully.
“My hero.” She cried, ignoring the way he tried to hush her as they moved down the hall, or rather, he moved and she was carried. When the floor started spinning, however, she had to close her eyes, he face scrunching up in discomfort. “Will you still love me if I puke on you?” She asked, wrapping her arms around his back where she rested her cheek. In the morning, she’d regret her decisions. Now, she was suddenly tired and felt queasy.
“I, yes, but don’t. You’ve gotta tell me if you’re going to be sick Marly.” Giggling in half understanding, she rubbed her cheek against his shirt and before she knew it, was being deposited in a familiar bed. “Wow, bad Chocs, you’re not supposed to know how to get up here.” She mumbled, refusing to let go of the hold she now had on his bicep. “No, if you took me away from fun, you’ve gotta stay with me.” She whined, clinging tightly to him.
“Fine, but you have to go to sleep.” At the concession, Marlene smiled drowsily and let her eyes fall shut, tangling her limbs up with Remus’ to keep him close. “You’re my favorite person, y’know? And Aly, and Lily, and Jamie, and Pete, an-” “Sleep, Marls.” Giggling once more, she nodded and nestled her head on his shoulder. “Kay.”
