These have been the hardest two years of my life. Three years ago I went back to school to earn my Masters degree. One year into the program we received emergency custody of our baby niece and began the heartbreaking journey into foster care. Within the next three months, God willing, we will adopt our niece and I will graduate. I intentionally held this picture until this moment. This is a picture of me receiving an award for Resiliency & Perseverance from our Oakland Alliance. It’s a beautiful display of love and support from my peers and I am so thankful for them. During this final quarter I will be looking back to this picture as a reminder of who I am and what I am capable of with the support of my loved ones. We can do this. ❤️ #resilience #resiliency #perseverance #oaklandalliance #msw #mswstudent #mswgrad #graduation #graduate #gradschool #fostercare #adoption #kinship #survivor #pleaseremindmeicandothis #selfcare #icandoallthingsthroughchrist #icandothis
Tonight
I worked with a thirteen year old boy with aspergers and we had such a good first session! I’m so excited because I was really nervous about this one for some reason.
& I found out I will be taking on a job working with children and youth with developmental/behavioral disabilities.
Excited to finally relax a little bit. & also so happy to not send out anymore resume/cover letter/hour long applications!
