Alright so my Instagram post didn't translate to Tumblr very well so let me just take a second to tell you all about how great it is to enjoy the great outdoors with great friends.
Somehow I lucked into making friends with this crazy chick on this blue hell site Tumblr. Last year we me in the flesh for a fun little run and got to know each other over a drink and some ice cream. Ive been so blessed by the impact she has had on my life and this week was the icing on the cake. Recently I lost my grandma and my home town is on fire and just a lot of stuff was going on. I was struggling. Then this girl stepped in, even with her own stuff going on making her own head spin, we got together and found a firm spot on which to stand.
Somehow, she managed to get me to push past my crippling fear of heights while pushing through her very own. She bridged a friendship with another pair of folks on the trail and made it easier for me to connect with them as well. When we found a wounded bird on the trail, I didn't have to beg to try to save it or apologize for side tracking our plans because she was already there, picking it up and discussing our options. When I was scared and cried, she held my hand and urged me forward. When it was dark she gave me her flashlight. This month, when I was in need for a friend and some time in nature, she said "Here I am, let's go."
I am just so thankful and so stoked that I could be lucky enough to have a friend like her and live in a region like this surrounded by people who crave adventure and life in the wild wild woods.
@wanderingbrave thank you for being such an incredible rock star and sharing adventures with me.
