Magic Deck Suggestions

Okay so backstory: play group is doing a secret Santa thing for the holidays wherein, you draw someones name(already done) and you have until the 2nd week of December to put together a Commander deck for that person at which time everyone presents their decks and that's what we all play with.

There is 1 rule, it can't go over 50 bucks (including the price of the commander)

So for the person I drew I am putting together a Zedruu the Greathearted mild chaos deck. Also the person I drew has a Magar of the Magic Strings edh deck that is mostly a Minotaur tribal deck/general jank (they don't like to run things that are too mean like Worst Fears) and a Dragons Approach mono Red Solphim deck.

So I made one of the wincons a Laboratory Maniac win via the use of Leveler. Also going to throw in things like Nine Lives. Also it's going to have an Akroan Horse in the deck and a few clones (they have an odd obsession with the card, like they go out of their way to trade for/purchase each copy they can find, it's their meme card)

What would be some inexpensive jank/chaos cards I could also include that preserve the spirit of Zedruu but also still be viable?

I've thought about adding in a Fractured Identity to target their own Leveler to end the game that way too.

I'm still in the "pile" phase of deck construction so I may already have something you suggest but that is okay! It supports I should keep it lol.

Edit: I just realized I didn’t pick any removal besides Disallow, fml haha. This would just be the mainboard stuff. More removal, etc would go in the side.

looking for suggestions?

so i want to make a phyrexian unlife W/B edh deck but i dont really know what to do with it. i want the feel of my deck to be killing myself, which is what im naming my deck, and bringing everyone down with me by doing so, having a cold cruel glass of everyone dying.. a crazed sorcerer who uses his magic to seemingly just kill him off. until we get to the end and give everyone a good laugh of the afterlife. also i dont like decks that are 1 shot wonders, if i can work in other win conditions as well, that is fine. but draining my own life is for sure the main focus. i really like bond of agony bcuz it gives the feel of bringing everyone down together until you bring out something like the unlife. and i find it really cool to be able to soul conduit someone to give them more life bcuz i dont mind dying when necessary. i know i need some life gain things so i dont accidentally kill myself  or die when getting targeted. but i want the main focus to be me WANTING to die. i think its kind of funny as the goal to be imagined as this undead creature at less than zero life, cackling maniacally and saying something like “how bout another round on me ol chaps” and give everyone a good swig of a pint of repay in kind. “whats that lads? pahhh! couldnt handle their drinks!” also anything that i could do to play in the fields of undeath would be nice dropping to zero or less with not a care in the world, and returning to life when it suited me. deaths shadow is wonderful, and i was maybe thinking wall of blood but i know its not that great. but i imagine slapping a dying wish on it and having a good time.

i know ill need some recursion and ways to protect my stuff and possibly to flash things in of course

all ive got so far for cards are phyrexian unlife repay in kind, platinum angel, lich’s mirror, soul conduit, bond of agony, death’s shadow, angel’s grace, transcendence, exquisite blood, vedalken orrery

any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated. i for sure struggle with black decks bcuz i know their power hungriness often takes over, what with many tutors and drain lifes and such. i know it would be easily a lot better to play exsanguinate over bonds of agony, but i really wanna stick to my theme

oh, also point of note, i know black’s strongsuit is to draw its power off of others suffering. cards that make other people pay life in order to do things or what not, baneful omen for example, and having some of that if i need it is fine, but in fitting to my theme, i want my power to be drawn mainly from my own suffering if i can

Standard Players

I’m looking for any thoughts on UW Spirits moving forward with Kaladesh. There doesn’t appear to be a lot of new cards for the deck, but I could be missing something.

Here is my list prior to Kaladesh. 

What I’m thinking is putting in 3 Dovin Baans for Anafenza, and 3 Revolutionary Rebuffs for the Clash of Wills and Eerie Interlude. But what about the sideboard? Fumigate will replace Planar Outburst, but I also have to replace Ojutai’s Command and Hallowed Moonlight.

Any serious input on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Need some EDH help!

So I’m working on a Roon list, and have to cut 8 more cards from the deck, but I’m having trouble deciding what to cut. Would any of you, or perhaps anyone else who’s into EDH, be willing to share your thoughts and opinions?

Edited with link here - please ignore the sideboard and land base. The “sideboard” are things I took out of my giant mess of things to consider, and the lands are just placeholders until the rest of the list is done.

My friend is starting a sort of 20-week EDH league where everyone starts out with a pre-con deck, and we get to change out up to 5 cards with value of up to $50 every week. That way, everyone starts on a fairly even playing field, no one will have a deck with over $1000 in additions, and everyone will have had the chance to change every card if wanted by the end. This list is what I’m going to try to get to by the end of the 20 weeks, but I understand I might not figure some of it out til later.

Just got me a Tariel, so I'm gonna work up a deck for them.

Agh, I have no idea what I’m doing.

So here’s a rough draft. It’s kinda sketchy, and I don’t actually have all the cards on me to make it, so I’ll have to substitute some other cards in until I get home for spring and can get the rest of my cards. The sideboard is cards I have that are wrapped up in other decks that I don’t want to break yet (Tesya) and the maybe-board is cards that I don’t have but would like to add. This is definitely a ver, VERY rough draft.

And I’m still not even sure I like that. I’m like wandering in the dark. I’d really appreciate some feedback and suggestions. I don’t have a whole lot of money to spend on cards, and I don’t have much to trade, so the cheaper the better. That said, I’m open to just about anything at this point.
