Making salmonids as Mtg cards 4: rush event/glowflies
Everybody knows how a basic Swamp works… right?
Taps for a Dark Ritual, a Shadowborn Apostle, or even a Tortured Existence.
Lands are a beautiful part of Magic — so simple, but so complex.
We’ve all seen full-art lands, and some may even remember the (incredible) Secret Lair full-text lands, but this is the first line of full-art, full-text basic lands.
Featuring both beautiful landscapes and the actual full rules text of how lands work, these basics are anything but.
Now, reading the card *does* explain the card. Completely.
Only from Mana Products.
It always confuses me a little that there seems to be a subset of players who don't seem to understand that the different colours of Magic are supposed to have different strengths and weaknesses that make the choice of colour meaningful in Commander as much as in any other Magic format.
The number of times I've seen Mark Rosewater answering an ask that's like "when will other colours get good land ramp", "when will red get good answers to enchantments besides Chaos Warp", etc. etc., couched in some statement about "because Commander is the most popular format" and I'm like??? Those colours aren't supposed to do those things? What about Commander makes you think the colour pie shouldn't apply??? Why do you want to make the game less interesting???
Okay, admittedly I’m THE target audience for the Marvel Superheroes set given that I’ve adored comics my entire life, and I understand why people would be not that into it… but I gotta say my immediate impressions of this set are turned on their heads lmao
I was so sure it was gonna be ass like spiderman but I’m actually into some of these cards pretty heavy (like antman, thanos, etc). Excited to see what the full set is like

In honour of being satisfied enough to (for now) finalise my Flubs slime against humanity deck, I've quickly finished off the deck's Flubs proxy.
Utena is invading all my hobbies again...
