In your experience, when's the best time to scoop discounted singles after a Masters set (roughly)?

Another absolutely ancient ask at this point so I apologize for the lateness.

It's odd. People are getting better and better about getting singles on the drop which is making this period shorter and shorter.

Here's Mox Opal - a card I was targeting from 2XM

The preorders just before release were actually lower than the price on Sunday after the release. Then prices stayed high for a couple of weeks and slowly drifted down before coming back up.

This also played out with one of the marquee cards - Force of Will.

My strategy is this:

Make a list of cards you want from the set

Set a price you're comfortable with (I'd suggest something between 25-40% off for marquee cards and 50% or more for less desireable cards)

Track prices daily or every other day for two weeks prior to the masters set releases

If you see the target price you have in mind and have the money, buy it

If time is less of a factor, patience is a virtue. In this case track prices whenever you're comfortable to get a general sense of price movements

To the last point, I now have a spreadsheet for low end and high end cards that I'm looking for just to keep an eye on them. My high end spreadsheet is all RL stuff though so that has all 🚀🚀🚀'd recently

Commander Legends Speculation (Commander Legends Previews begin soon.)

We have already had some spoilers and few leaked cards for the Commander Legends set. We have seen that Partner will be a mechanic in the set. So, it would be reasonable to assume that older Partner commanders will get a boost in demand (which they already have since a few Partners were spoiled a while back.) Let’s take a brief inventory of Partner card prices. (According to TCGPlayer Market Price data.)
