So, last November I got these tattoos. As a connection to the school where everyday I saw firsthand the power of uplifting marginalized voices, where I found my career in social justice, where I met people who I still stand in solidarity with against the forces that try to tear us down in a thousand ways. But it is also a commitment to everyday work towards abundance- so that we all, whether on a CEO salary or disability payments, have what we need not just to survive, but to thrive- bread for sustenance, but roses, because beauty and nature and the ability to afford even a small luxury beyond basic survival feeds the soul, and that is a basic human right. We are far from there, both @mtholyoke And the world as a whole, but I see it every day I go to work, and every day I scroll through my Facebook feed or have a meal with a friend. My love and solidarity to everyone fighting for equal access to both basic human dignity and the opportunity for passion and abundance. #giveusbreadbutgiveusroses #breadandroses #mayday #mtholyoke #tattoo #floraltattoo (photo from @aubreymennella since I have yet to get a real healed photo)
