rodimus listens to ultra magnus practice his jokes!!
magnus feels comfortable enough around rodimus to practice his jokes!! like, the list of people ultra magnus feels comfortable around is
no one rodimus
that’s it that’s the list
rodimus tries to help ultra magnus practice with his jokes!! yeah he does it in a really rodimus way but like
given that rung describes listening to ultra magnus practice a joke as “the universe succumbing to its inevitable heat death” and considers confessing to a class a crime to escape the moment
he’s trying! rodimus is trying! for magnus!!
(also they just. casually mention each other in conversations with other people?? i love)
so when rodimus reveals that he’s hand drawn a map to cyberutopia on his desk, he mentions that magnus was actually the one who noticed it
which magnus, of course, insists is the only time he’s done that. but when ultra magnus escorts rung to rodimus’ office after shore leave on hedonia (to meet with the captain about the voice below decks), rodimus looks over at ultra magnus, who happens to be...
...over in the corner of rodimus’ office, tidying the furniture.
ultra magnus, you big liar
Issue 13 vs Issue 43 cute robots and their holoforms having a fun time Issue 14-15: Death and Destruction Issue 44-45: N/A People are going to die in the next issue THERE IS A PATTERN. That big fucking army is on the way led by the DJD and they're not going to take prisoners.
Why couldn’t Rung’s holoform be the one on the cover?! It’s so much hotter!!!
Cyclonus has absolutely no reason to cover for Tailgate. He further cements his own reputation as a violent, unstable ‘bot to protect Tailgate’s secret - an extended lie which almost killed both Cyclonus and Rewind. Cyclonus would have every right to publicly call him on his shit.
...and he doesn’t. He calmly advises Tailgate to stop lying about who he is, and then comforts him when he’s upset. It’s a world away from the robot who kicked and beat Tailgate for thumping him. Cyclonus exacts no discipline or judgement for Tailgate’s dangerous lie. It’s as though he recognises Tailgate’s loneliness, his disconnect from other people and his need to be a part of the world that left him behind, even if Cyc’s way of dealing with those things is completely different.
gdi rewind who gave you permission to be this adorable
you could argue that the often hugely not-okay nature of the pranks Swerve pulls (hello, Red Alert) contribute hugely to the way people see him - a fun guy, but not someone you’d want to be around a whole lot.
(As an aside, his genuine friendship with Skids is pretty sweet and revealing of a different side to Swerve - one he’d probably do well to cultivate.)
