"Mt. Washington" 8" x 10" oil on hardboard 2020 This peak in the central Oregon Cascades pokes up from rolling lava fields like an enormous shark fin. Volcanic activity in this region has created some magnificent formations, especially after millennia of erosion from wind and water. Once a much smoother and rounder volcanic mountain, all that remains now is its craggy inner core. Fortunately for me, the rugged cliffs and crags are very fun to paint!
