I just watched episode seven of SU:F and I gotta tell you, I got feels man. Episode is good, but the fact that we see how much Steven really has changed, just, my boy
and then him finally expressing those feelings about feeling like the Crystal Gems aren't accepting him growing up fills me with so much joy!
Like, this has been in the series for a while, Steven feeling like the gems don't want him to grow up, and for him to finally say so? For the gems to finally accept it? Apologize? For Steven to finally realize that it's okay to embrace his younger self a bit more? (Arguable he could have known this from the start, just doesn't want to) it's enjoyable.
Plus the fact the episode was just overall fun, lets loose, and felt nice and warm and fuzzy and just content.
But I will admit when Steven finally started to play the game I was 80% expecting him just to go pink (almost every single episode has him going pink so far, except for 7 and 8. I think. I know Bluebird does, I haven't been able to watch the other episode yet. I don't think 6 does... I might be wrong, correct me if I am)
It would have been bad, and I realized when the episode was over, but like... It was still a fun episode, reminding me of the days when this show was about Steven thinking his powers were activated by ice cream and he was a literal cinnomen roll incarnate and nothing could change that. (Still a cinnomen roll, just has a lot more cinnomen.)
