Holy Basil/Tulsi seeds get mucilaginous in water, like Chia or Flax. Cute! And medicinal! #tulsiseeds #holybasilseeds #ocimum #mucilage #mucilaginous #seedsaving (at South West Philadelphia)

here's to another year of terror /silly
Welp. I've learned a new word and I hate the way it sounds. Mucilaginous meaning viscous or gelatinous consistency. Referring to a plant in the context I read it. I'm learning about the linden tea i'm drinking.
Ok I tried making pastry cream with coconut milk and the taste is great! But the. The texture. The texture is bad.
We aren’t huge fans of okra (unless it’s fried) as it tends to get slimy. Yet, it’s that “mucilaginous” quality that makes it such a great thickener in soups and stews. It’s also chock full of vitamins and nutrients... hmmm... a mucilaginous (I love how the word, more than the okra, feels in my mouth) powerhouse if you will. I’m a pretty darn good cook and I have a knack for hiding vegetables from those in my household...a household solely comprised of adults 🤦🏻♀️ mind you, so unless they read this post, they will never know. Mwahahaha!! Do you use okra? What is your favorite way to use it? #okra #mucilaginous https://www.instagram.com/p/B_SbXwrnvx7/?igshid=yru73qri1h1w
