How does it work : for a PRs and journalists ?
How do they publish their articles ?
How to pitch a client properly to make a journalist interested in a story ?
Muck Rack is a subscription service that includes a database of media theoretically allowing PR professionals to streamline and save time on tedious tasks like pitching and monitoring coverage. And honestly, it's probably a great tool for corporate comms people who have ROIs to prove every quarter. I used it when I worked for a firm that repped whole organizations in addition to individuals.
Personal PR is much more rooted in storytelling, so much of which happens on a social media landscape I've not seen proof Muck Rack is equipped to analyze. Plus, I can set up Google alerts and customize a RSS feed for free. We already outsource market research, hard to justify the cost of MR as well. 🤷♀️
Not sure what it offers journalists specifically besides a database? Anyone familiar can chime in.
How to pitch a client properly to make a journalist interested in a story?
This Q probably deserves its own post! But most importantly for the sake of brevity: BE VERY FAMILIAR with their beat, the publication, and their audience to make sure the content is 1) relevant and 2) newsworthy. 🌞
