Remember that Hermione once said that Muggles can't see Hogwarts? Well, imagine a Muggle family going on a road trip across England and suddenly the GPS starts bugging and stops working and the car starts to get stuck every now and then. and suddenly their, not yet 11 year old, kid goes like "Mum! Dad! Look, a castle! Look at how big it is! And there light in there! There must be people, maybe they will help us!" And his parents look at him terrified and whisper with horror "There is no castle there, Timmy" But the kid insists there is a castle and people are flying on brooms around it. And the parents are like 100% sure their kid went crazy. When in reality he's just a Muggle-born Wizard who's still too young to go to Hogwarts.
