I knew #MudDauber #wasps had taken residence in my #workshop while I was in the process of building it but I had no clue they made a home inside my #vansaircraft #rv10 elevator fairings! . Did I ever share this Muddauber nest picture yet?

Muddaubers are a type of wasp that makes homes (for food and larval storage) out of finely packed mud, and this particular chunk was taken from under the hood of the truck by Mom. Usually, they're about the size of a thumb, but looks like they straight up made an apartment.

Really impressive, actually. They moved all that dirt themselves.

I'm still viscerally scared of wasps, but this is definitely a delightful find. We tried to keep it intact and moved it away from the truck.
