Really??!!?!! :D
For real :D Information science (or whatever you call this field in English) is seriously the nerdiest thing ever.

passingfaire said: Best piece of advice I’ve heard lately: Other people’s opinions of me are none of my business. You’re awesome, love. Just be you. *hugs*
Thank you very much, both of you. <3

Exactly! it’s definitely a good idea to check what format your institution recommends. Aw that sucks. Are you doing the one where you put numbers in the body of the text? That one’s nasty lol :D
Yeah! We're allowed to use numerical but we don't have to - just name and year. Thank goodness :P And parentheses instead of footnotes which makes me so very happy.
mudsparrow replied to your post:If I didn’t have fifty other reasons to never ever...
Noo… Really? Argh. It’s such an important skill! It’s really in your friend’s interest to find out how to do it themself! There are programs that can also help with referencing. I’ve no experience with them, but know peeps who find them rly useful.
I know, right? Next time, though, I won't be there to do them for her. It's so weird that uni haven't done anything about teaching it either! They just sort of forgot all about it until I asked (because I know systems are different depending on where you study) and they were like 'Oh yeah we'll get back to that' and they never did. Had to ask older students...
mudsparrow said: Happy Birthday!!! Hope you had/have a lovely day! :D promt: ummm 12 bumps into mrs Beeton and is a total fanboy :P
Thank you! The sad state of affairs here is that I had to look up who Mrs. Beeton was, and I don't feel equipped enough to write about Twelve fanboying over her based on what Wikipedia tells me. So I'm going to take a raincheck on this prompt, and give you Twelve fanboying over Hark! A Vagrant comic artist/writer Kate Beaton instead.

The tall, thin, grey-haired man walked past her once before doubling back and pointing one imperious finger in her face.
"YOU!" he exclaimed in a Scottish accent. "I know you! You do the history comics!" This was not altogether an unusual event when one was seated at a con booth, so she simply smiled.
"Yeah, that's me."
"Your Robespierre, you know-- dead on. And your Tesla. I could give you some pointers on your St. Francis, though-- lots of stories you could use. He liked mice." He nodded sagely.
"Oh, do you study--" she started to say, but he plowed right on.
"I showed your comics to Elizabeth I, you know, she thought they were great. Didn't really get the dating game one, how could she? But she loved the 'wingspan of an albatross.' Might have caused a bit of a paradox, because, come to think of it, I don't think she'd given the Tilbury speech yet. Nevermind."
"Uh..."
"And what was that other one? That one you do? I really love that-- that--" He snapped his fingers in her face without seeming at all to register her stunned expression or the way her eyes darted about in search of witnesses, just in case. "The fat pony!" he declared at last. "Yes. I love it. It's so fat." He grinned a grin which could not help looking diabolical.
"...Thank you...?"
"Pleasure." He executed a slight bow and turned away.
She was signing a book for a fan when, five seconds later, he came back. He brushed the autograph-seeker aside without a glance. "Does this mean," he asked, "that I'm in Canada?"
mudsparrow replied to your post:My life would be 523 % easier if I never had to...
Yeah there are so many days that start beautifully, then people stuff happens. Can’t live with them, can’t live without them :) *hugs*
Yeah, it's hard. Of course being with people is rewarding, but it's also really frustrating figuring them out :P
mudsparrow replied to your post:I have been through two of nine student...
noooo D: You can do it! *waves pom poms*
Thank you, the pom-poms are much appreciated. The good news (ish?) is that three of them didn't show up, and I only have one more.
