Kay doesn’t mean to stare, but she’s never seen anyone like this before. Multiple eyes, lotsa cool arms... like a spider! Spiders are Kay’s favorite, it must be cool to be one, she thinks.

“Oh!“ Looks like she’s been spotted. “I’m sorry.” She looks a little embarrassed to be caught staring, but doesn’t run away. Instead, she hesitantly takes a step closer.

“Do you like my plushie?” She holds up the stuffed spider for Muffet to see, big silver eyes sparkling. “I thought she kinda looked like you.”

“You still think I look fine in this... Really?”

Her anxiety was palpable as the two arrived at the site of the party, mansion seemingly overflowing with decorations onto the street before them. Music could be heard, muffled by the walls, but it was more of this ‘modern’ style that Merrill just didn’t quite understand.

It was less of the whole ‘going to a party’ thing that had her nervous, and more of the whole ‘this is a social tradition that I’ve never even heard of before two days ago’ thing. What if she messed something up? Missed some sort of joke or action that was obvious to everyone else?

So she practically clung to Muffet, grasping one of the woman’s right hands firmly.

“I think it seems a little boring, compared to what everyone else seems to be wearing...”
