I think the funniest thing an action-oriented character can do is become obsessed with their weapon. The less likely the character was to become an action hero, the better.

Like, imagine a highschool girl, five months into being a vigilante, getting detention for wearing brass knuckles in school. Imagine a middle aged office worker who always gives really sharp kitchen knives for Secret Santa. Imagine a clown packing heat in literally any situation.
