Tala Hadid was born in London, graduated from Columbia University in New York City, and participated in the Sundance Institute Directors Lab. Her films include the documentary feature Sacred Poet, the short film "Your Dark Hair Ihsan," which won the Panorama Short Film Award at Berlin, and her latest, The Narrow Frame of Midnight, was featured at the Muhr feature Awards at the Dubai International Film Festival.
Reine Mitri (born Lebanon) worked as a cine-club programmer and the organiser of the Docudays film festival in Beirut for over five years. Since 2001, she has written and directed five films, including VULNERABLE (2009), which was broadcast in the "Lucarne" slot on ARTE. She has also worked as projects coordinator at the Fondation Liban Cinéma.

These fears perpetuate past traumas generated from massacres and displacements, which were perpetrated along sectarian lines during the Civil War. Since the war ended in 1990, land transactions are completing what the war did not achieve: dismantling the country into sectarian enclaves.”

Mohammed Rashed Buali is a Bahraini filmmaker. He has directed and produced several award-winning shorts including: BETWEEN THEM, ABSENCE, THE GOOD OMEN, CANARY and RECLAIM. THIS IS LONDON won Third Prize at the Gulf Film Festival 2012. RECLAIM won the Golden Lion at the 12th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia in 2010.

Bedridden Amina has cerebral palsy and her parents, Jassim and Noora, must ensure that she receives proper care. Noora stays at home to take care of her daughter, but Jassim’s refusal to participate in family life heightens the tensions within the family. Constrained and desperate, the couple leads an estranged existence. A series of coincidences however, bring new light as Jassim moves between reality and hope… With his brother’s taxi he embarks on the journey of his life. At the legendary Tree of Life, he is mesmerised by his passengers’ attraction to the tree and is overwhelmed by the surroundings. In an unexpected convergence of experiences, life appears to regain purpose. However, Jassim and Noora’s happiness is fleeting and their marriage is tested yet again.

Nujoom Al Ghanem is an acclaimed Emirati filmmaker, who works as a film and media consultant. Fatima Ali Alhameli was the first Emirati female camel owner to enter her camel in the country’s camel beauty pageant competition and participate in Abu Dhabi’s camel auctions. Her attempts faced stiff opposition from the organisers and society. However, she persisted as she was determined to represent Emirati women in this largely male bastion and keen on proving to the world that her gender would not hold her back. An inspiring film about a woman’s courage and pioneering spirit.
