I have my second ever babyshower planned in december!💙(not for me, fyi)

So right now I'm about to try out a new recipe for anise cookies!

I bought some ground aniseed from a miller to use!

We in the Netherlands usually use anise covered in sugar to celebrate the baby!

We call them 'muisjes' which literally translates to

'little mice' cute right! 🐁

They're usually sold in mixes of pink and white or blue and white to match the gender of the child.

But I wanted to try and bake cookies!

Anise is great for the mother's milk supply! But also, I just enjoy the smell and taste personally 🤭

In the Netherlands we have "muisjes" (literally little mice) which are anice seeds with a sugary coating (think mnms coating, but a little thicker). In primary school, I would take a little bit of butter to hold a spoonful of them all together and eat it. Tip: look up why and how muisjes are /supposed/ to be eaten.
