#throwbackthursday to 2 years ago when I was slowly figuring my way through this piece for @blacktempleshrines The actual piece itself is based on how I was feeling after someone near and dear to me took her own life a year or so previous. When I looked back on my last conversation with her (which I still have saved on my phone) I could see little cries for help that I never spotted at the time and I'm sure if I were to ask other friends they'd say the same. We'd gladly give up our hearts for her which I why I wound up drawing a 'Heart Garden' character who's literally growing new hearts in his chest so he has plenty to hand to those in need. Progress update from week 5 of 6 of @alankeaneart 'How To Draw a Perfect Likeness' course in Photorealism, being held in the studio in @artmines_195 Lots more work to do, particularly on the hair and in the contouring of the face. As I said before, I'm thoroughly enjoying this class so far and would 100% recommend to anyone at any level of drawing. Week 4 of 6 into Alan Keane's 'How To Draw a Perfect Likeness' course in Photorealism. Kinda wishing I'd started taking pics in week 1 so I could better show progress but ah well.
