Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist Pairing: Riza Hawkeye/Roy Mustang (Royai) Rating: Explicit (18+) Summary: "He's sitting cross-legged on his rumpled bed, reading an alchemy textbook. It's the opposite of what she expected—but his pose is too casual. Her sharp eyes catch the way he's tightly gripping the cover of the book, how quickly his chest rises and falls. She can hear his heartbeat—stuttering against his ribcage like a trapped bird, too fast for someone pretending to be calm.
It doesn't occur to her how dramatic her entrance is. She doesn't realize she's standing motionless in his doorway, deathly pale, wild-haired and barefoot, looking less like a girl and more like something terrifying risen from the grave—fresh from the deep, dark woods to claim his soul.
"I know you saw me," she whispers, all too aware of her father sleeping down the hall. She's not going to pussyfoot around; this is far too important.
He holds the book higher, so she can't see his face.
"I don't know what you mean, Miss Hawkeye."
His voice is innocent, too innocent. It's pitched up, almost squeaky.
