I'm an actress and I don't want female/black/multiracial James Bond, I don't want POC The Little Mermaid, I don't want female Batman.

I want stories about women, preferably important females in history, being written specially for them, repressenting what it is like to be a woman, showing our realities. I want female superheroes, female heroines, female stars, female queens, female police agents... Not by recycling men's stories, but by writing our own.

Similarly, I want the same when it comes to POC and multi-racial people. I want stories that talk about African and Asian culture and reflect it, made for those characters who aren't white, who we barely know anything about, showing us their culture, their societies... Whether they live in tribes, or in poverty, or in a collective culture, or having to work 200h a week to support their families. I want REAL multi-cultural stories. Not recycling things made for the white.

I don't know any blogs to ask this too so: Ever since I was old enough to learn about racism, I never understood it and I still don't understand. I barely have a grasp on colorism and my problem is: I feel like I got away with some things that darker skinned peeps would've been crucified for, ngl. I've been a 'good' kid to many because I'm lightskinned? I deadass never felt pressure to conform but now, I want to be lighter and it doesn't make sense, (I've gotten lighter over time but still) 1/2

I don't speak in aave and even other black people have implied that I'm too 'good', stuck up, 'white' etc. I haven't even come to turns with the fact that whiteness, blackness, and latin-ness is a direct part of me. I'm barely acknowledging that my family member on my mom's side are not black. I'm the one with the 'good' hair and a bunch of bs. I feel like a fake black person, can't relate to black people, white people, or latinos. I feel like I can't call myself multi-racial either. Advice? 2/2         

You are multi-racial, but otherwise, since I am white identified/passing, and definitely not black or latine, I can’t give much advise because it’s not my place.

@themixedfeminist may be able to help better. I’m at work so I don’t have many more I can recommend at this time, can followers help out here?

Does anyone else get bummed out when your favorite characters only ever get with "readers" who are presumably white/white passing? Like I know Dean Winchester seems to end up with a lot of blondes/brunettes, and most are white (white passing at least), but I thought he was with at least one Biracial girl (or was she someone's half sister?? It's been so long), and come on its Dean Winchester, a lover of ladies! I don't have pale skin, or blue eyes or have to "hope I'll get some color" to my skin from the sun. Books/plays/movies and fanfic all rely on suspended reality already so things like: growing up in a nuclear family, growing up in another state/being born in another country, one of your parents is a piece of shit; are all things I can fall into because I have replaced my reality with the reality of the book/play/fic etc. But when it comes to my skin tone it actually feels kind of crippling to constantly read "my pale skin" this and my pale skin that (excluding the sickly pale kind, that's obvi related to health).

And even if it isn't canon, neither is the reader in the first place so like. And I know, "create your own content" and all but even though I am capable of writing, it'd be nice if I didn't always have to.

I'm brown and bummed out. But like no ones gonna read this anyway so....

Shout out to the writers who keep things open ended.

Man, if y’all thought prejudice wasn’t alive and well in every damn corner of this website, y’all need to check out just how quick certain groups are to denounce and make fun of a biracial/multi-racial person’s ethnicity just because they are white-passing.
