It is of course possible that a new and for us unknown angel is behind Lucifer’s abduction and abandonment in the desert but is it really likely? To be able to answer that question we really need to have a look at the fights we’ve seen this far between celestial beings and see what they have in common, trying to find the M.O. of angel-fights or for that matter angels fighting demons.
What you find above is how those fights in the show this far have begun and there are certain things they all have in common:
First, they all seem really keen on talking each other to death before actually fighting, especially Uriel. He goes on and on about patterns instead of actually fighting.
Second, they all signal their attacks before they actually do. One exception does exist, Maze in 1x12 when she was planning and trying to kill Amenadiel but he somehow notices what is going to happen and catches the dagger before it makes any harm.
Thirdly, they all show themselves before attacking if they don’t signal their attack in some other way. This is true for masked mom in the garage of Lux but also Maze dropping in on Uriel’s fight with Lucifer.
Fourthly, ALL fights between angels are fist-fights. The only one we’ve seen using a weapon while fighting angels is Maze and she is a demon and those aren’t really celestial, are they?
If an angel did attack Lucifer that angel’s M.O. is totally different from all other celestial beings we’ve seen which IMO makes this a highly unlikely scenario.. And that leaves us with one little demon who we know likes to use weapons, Maze.
Yes, Maze is really pissed off with Lucifer, but she was also made to protect him and leaving Lucifer in the desert doesn’t exactly scream protection. And why would she use a leather billy club when she’s got something much more modern in her arsenal? Something already tried and proven efficient against angels.
