Another Nürburgring record! The Ford GT Mk IV has set a stunning 6:15.977 lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it the fastest American car to ever lap the circuit and the quickest internal combustion-powered vehicle on the legendary “Green Hell.” Driven by Ford Racing factory driver Frédéric Vervisch, the GT Mk IV delivered this record‑breaking performance on Forgeline one‑piece forged monoblock “Gurney” wheels, developed in collaboration with Multimatic Motorsports and Ford Racing.
With only 67 units being built, over 800 horsepower, real slicks, and more than 2400 lbs of downforce, the GT Mk IV is purpose‑built for moments like this, and we’re proud to contribute to the equation. Congratulations to the entire GT Mk IV team!

Is this the coolest car built in Canada? To me the GT MKII is one of the most gorgeous race cars out there, @multimaticmotorsports you’ve created on hell of a track weapon! @cdnintlautoshow @fordcanada @fordperformance ______________________________________ #cias #cias2020 #canadianinternationalautoshow #autoshow #drivemarketinggroup #ford #fordperformance #fordgt #fordgtmkii #multimatic #trackonly #transformativetimes #blakejphoto (at The Official Canadian International AutoShow) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLGj6iJpV3T/?igshid=4abp5ykuv3td
Multimatic Launches Special Vehicle Operations
Global automotive technology provider, Multimatic, has announced the creation of a Special Vehicle Operations group (MSVO). The new organisation, led by Larry Holt, Executive Vice President MSVO, has been formed in response to Multimatic’s continued growth and diversification throughout the global automotive industry. The company’s engineering organisation has correspondingly grown, over the past 30+ years, to encompass a varied and diverse number of operations around the world with an impressively large and talented technical community.
MSVO will be responsible for all vehicle engineering developments as was undertaken for the Ford GT, motorsports projects like the Mazda DPi, and all race team operations, continuing the use of the Multimatic Motorsports identity. Additionally, low volume vehicle body/chassis manufacture, carbon fibre part production and low volume niche component supply will also be incorporated within the new MSVO. Multimatic Motorsports will continue to operate on both sides of the Atlantic, from dedicated facilities, providing a unique proposition in the global GT and prototype competition space.
The Multimatic Engineering group will now be led by Jim Holland, a highly experienced automotive engineering executive, with a focus on providing the industrial manufacturing groups of Multimatic with continued product and technology development while maintaining a close relationship with Holt and MSVO to assure a two-way flow of expertise, resource and technical culture.
Can outrageous be gorgeous? I think the GT MKII proves it can. Thank you @multimaticmotorsports for creating this track weapon. @cdnintlautoshow @fordcanada @fordperformance ______________________________________ #cias #cias2020 #canadianinternationalautoshow #autoshow #drivemarketinggroup #ford #fordperformance #fordgt #fordgtmkii #multimatic #trackonly #transformativetimes #blakejphoto (at The Official Canadian International AutoShow) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8-jMVep-AA/?igshid=50p0eb7o108v
Ever wonder what kind of crazy, super-secret skunkworks projects we're working on behind the scenes? It doesn’t get any cooler than this! Today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Multimatic Motorsports and Ford Performance unveiled their brand new Ford GT Mk II. The Mk II is a limited-edition, track-only GT that represents the next stage in Ford GT performance and manifests the true racetrack potential of a Ford GT that is not hindered by limitations imposed by series rules, sanctioning bodies, or homologation requirements. The Ford GT Mk II is powered by a 700HP 3.5-liter Ecoboost engine, is equipped with state-of-the-art aero to generate 400% more downforce than a standard GT, and rides on Multimatic DSSV dampers, giant Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport GT tires, and specially-designed 19x11.5/19x13.0 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock wheels finished in Satin Gunmetal! Pricing on the phenomenal Ford GT Mk II starts at $1.2 million and only 45 units will be built, so if you want one, then you’d better get in line soon.
