multiple eitos is the funniest route if you ignore the horrors
twin peaks inspired eitaku 🌲
i wanted to redeem myself after the previous render of takumi at a similar angle and i was thinking abt rebellion so that resulted in the rebel leader takkun... honestly there's a lot of art of him around but i wish there was more "elaboration" about his role!! maybe i'll draw that sometime
and i also love the idea of tormenting takumi with seeing his friends as either monstrosities or eito permanently. pigeon-holing himself into a similar problem, or fighting and the others helping him compensate (without eito's will altering his perception anymore). or on the other hand, takumi being takumi and staying completely silent and pretending the problem doesn't exist anymore, putting a front up like he had for much of the route lmao. but it's fun. thinking of him seeing things from eito's perspective.
ending 009 / vague spoilers
endurance match
Living Idol and Eternal Hate are two sides of the same coin to me.
For Takumi, both of these endings are a horrifying consequence of resorting to some sort of extreme and taking power he should not be taking, which happens due to deaths of his friends being weaponized against him. In both of these endings, he loses his body autonomy, although in very different ways, and loses himself. In Living Idol, he becomes a symbol that can do nothing more than watch over others, existing solely for their purpose, solely to be the object of their "love". In Eternal Hate, he's like a vessel for hatred that destroys everything and everyone around him, including everything that matters to him.
As for Eito, in Eternal Hate he is physically dead but thriving inside of Takumi, meanwhile in Living Idol he is physically alright but on the inside? The person we know Eito to be does not exist. Both of those endings also deliver a similar sort of fascinating characterization of Eito. In both endings, he exhibits a desperate need to become one with Takumi. In Living Idol, he wants to be as close as possible to the only person he's ever had feelings for, the only human he was able to feel something positive for. He clings onto his feelings for Takumi the most out of everyone, like it's a lifeline, because this is his only chance at ever experiencing something like that, at connecting with another person. That's why he is so happy to be able to want Takumi. In Eternal Hate, he becomes one with Takumi in a far more literal sense. This is the accomplishment that matters to him the most. He even emphasizes it with his "clear field lit by a pale blue moon" line. There, more than his goal of destroying humanity, he is focused on and elated by succeeding to bring out the same kind of hatred in Takumi as the one he feels towards humanity. In succeeding to bring Takumi down to his level, to share this feeling with him - because it's the only real emotion he's ever felt towards anyone and it's only through this hatred that he is able to build a true connection with another person. Both endings in their own way emphasize just how horribly lonely his existence is and how much he wants and needs this bond with someone else, no matter how horrible the form it takes is.
multiple eitos hatred ending is so interesting esp in context of second scenario..in the end, eito remarked how he was glad that takumi can feel the same pain and hatred as he does, because he only ever bore it alone and they can now share it together. he even asked where the hatred even came from, which again hits harder after second scenario. that would explain why he encouraged takumi to give in as well.
like despite his efforts to torment takumi and he did succeed, he was.. surprisingly assuring too?
it shows how lonely this cognitive disorder must be. and now that takumi has it too, they can both live with it together. surprisingly a somber and very insightful ending despite the inside jokes
Okay but what if they met?
Ending 91 Takumi who has managed escape the cage meets Ending 09 Takumi. The latter has mysteriously appeared here. He seems totally nice. He trusts himself he thinks. This won’t end badly…right?
The sprites are underneath the cut.
